House on the University of Chicago campus, considered to be one of the
most important buildings in American architecture. It was created by
Frank Lloyd Wright for his client Frederick C. Robie, a forward-thinking

completed in 1910, the building is both a masterpiece of the Prairie style
and renowned as a forerunner of modernism in architecture. Tours of

EV40 Chicago Bulls vs. Dallas Mavericks7:00 PM United CenterPrice per person $75
Make your way to the house that Michael Jordan built. The United Center
is a state of the art sports facility with all the amenities. Thousands flock to
the city’s West Side for each Bulls home game, but it isn’t just about
watching basketball – it’s about experiencing the job of the game. Past
legends like Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson have battled here and
future legends entertain every night.
The Bulls made a statement in 2014 by making it to the first round playoffs.
Although they fell short to the Washington Wizards, they showed that they
will be a contender for years to come. Just like any off-season, it’s time for
teams to reflect on the previous season and find areas to improve. The
good thing for Chicago is there isn’t much that needs to be done. For the
most part, the Bulls have a young, core group of players who are still
getting better with each game. Regardless of this season’s record or the
night’s final score, fans can rest assured that they will leave with a smile
on their face.

tation to the United Center is not included.)

26. Porgy & Bess at the Lyric Opera of Chicago 7:30 PM Performance TimePrice per person $104
Redemption is hard to find. Porgy and Bess is the great American opera –
bursting with iconic songs that have moved easily into the worlds of jazz
and pop, and became hits for generation after generation. Six years after
its triumphant Lyric debut, Francesco Zambello’s big, beautiful, epic
production returns with its finely etched portrait of life in Catfish Row –
a vibrant but impoverished African-American community on the South
Carolina coast.
There’s Crown, the brutish thug; Sportin’ Life, the smooth-talking drug
peddler; Bess, the good-time girl who finally finds love with the
goodhearted Porgy; and Porgy himself, the lame beggar who’s the
strongest of them all – an unquenchable spirit who’ll stop at nothing to
reclaim the woman he loves.
(Theater tickets must be picked up at the Palmer House tour desk.

28. Chicago Sculpture Walking Tour (English)9:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Price per person: $35
Take in Chicago’s vast array of beautiful public art on display 365 days a
year. Artists and communities around the world continue the tradition of
erecting monuments to commemorate events and people of importance.
Chicago is no exception. Monuments were erected in the city before the
city’s incorporation in 1837, a tradition that continues to the present day.
The installation of the Chicago Picasso inspired a cultural renaissance,
which evoked a public interest in private and public investment in public
art. Chicago has become a “sculpture gallery” displaying works by many
world-renowned artists. The city’s collection of outdoor sculpture is as
distinguished as its world-class architecture. However, public art in
Chicago far exceeds sculptures installed in the downtown area.
Encompassing all areas of the visual arts, it is exhibited in municipal
buildings and neighborhoods citywide. Discover the changing relation-
ships between architecture and sculpture and learn how artists and
architects collaborate in creating successful public art.

The United Center isn’t just for basketball… Make your way to the house
that Michael Jordan built to cheer on the 2013 Stanley Cup Champions in
a battle on the ice! The United Center is a state-of-the-art sports facility
with all the amenities guaranteed to make your game viewing experience
unforgettable. Thousands flock to the city’s West Side for each home
Blackhawks game. Nothing thrills more than the sound of the puck
hitting the goal after a slap shot and the announcement of “GOAL!” by
the ref. Stars of this year’s team were Patrick Kane and Jonathan
Towes, whose fancy footwork on the ice and skillful handling of the puck
resulted in over 37 goals between the two of them this past season,
getting to the final round before being defeated by the LA Kings, who
went on to win the cup. This fast paced sport is high energy and intense.
Regardless of the night’s final score, fans can rest assured that they will
leave with a smile on their face.
