Notes To create Project Calendar ToolsChange working timeNew, type name of the calendar. Select Make copy of “standard” and click on Ok. To set a Non-working day into a working day (make Saturday working), Click on the label of Saturday and select Non-Default working time To change the working times of the day/s: Select the days by clicking on the day labels, and edit the From and To times. (From 9:00 am, To 6:00 pm, lunch break from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm) To set the holidays in the calendar: Select the day in a month of a year and click on Nonworking time. Diwali Holidays: 13, 14, 15 November, Christmas: 25 th December, 26 th January Set the changes in option: Set the same start and end times as that of calendar. Set the hours per day and hours per week based on the calendar times. Assign the calendar Assign project calendar to Project: ProjectProject Information, Select the calendar in Calendar option. Assign the project calendar to Bar Chart: FormatTime Scale Non-working time, select the calendar in the Calendar option. To Create the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)The WBS can be created using the outline tools such as Indent or Outdent. Every summary item is a WBS and the last level items under a summary item are the tasks.

To add sub task/wbs: keep the cursor below the task. InsertNew Task or press Insert Key on the key board. Type the name of task in the blank rows, select the task and indent using Indent Outdent tools on the Format tool bar or. ProjectOutlineIndent or Outdent.Linking the Tasks1. Using Task Information: Select the task to which the predecessor has to be assigned, ProjectTask Information Predecessor, Select the preceding task from the list. Relationship type (FS, SS, FF, SF), lead/lag can also be added here. 2. From the Bar Chart: Point the preceding task to get a 4 head arrowed cursor and drag and drop the chain on the succeeding task. Point the relationship line between the tasks and double click to open the Edit Relationship dialog box and edit the relationship.3. From the table: Enter the task ID under the predecessor column for a task with the relationship symbols such as FS, SS, FF, SF. Put a comma between tasks IDs for multiple predecessors.Critical Task, Floats, Forward and Backward Schedules1. To format the task bar to show critical tasks: FormatGantt Chart Wizard Next Critical Finish Format Exit2. Critical tasks will be changed into red color and normal tasks will remain in blue color. 3.
