MS EARLY OUT,

From the Desk of
Dallas S. Bunton, Sr. IFCCE, MCE; Chairman & CEO NACS and Medical Services of Chattanooga
If there were “do over‟s” in life wouldn‟t it be fun? (like do over’s being correct
English). We never can go back and change a day, no not even a minute of yesterday or yesteryear. However it is interesting at how much time we spend in the “past” instead of planning for tomorrow.
To me it is like looking at a car everyday that was maybe a good one but now the motor is shot, the wheels flat yet everyday you go out there looking at it when you have a new op-portunity with a new car, or check from the insurance company to get a new car but so caught up on the broke one. Or maybe you go buy a new one but spend more time dis-cussing the broke one. Get the picture?
I hope that all of us can funnel our energy into productive focused work with vision and a goal.
If last month was bad for collections then that should be a benchmark of where we need to not be next month.
Learn from the Past,
Focus on the Future
Pick the number where we need to be and focus on that and the tools to get there. The same with any part of the revenue cycle. Put
a bad week, bad day or month behind us and look for a brighter time ahead.
So when you get drawn into dwelling on a past situation be
determined that you are going to use that en-ergy to change the future, it is still not set in stone.

Keep up the great work!
Tips from the Trainer Always read the notes in the hospital system and review all the notes in the UGI. It is very important to enter clear and factual notes into the UGI. Do not enter personal feelings or opinions.
Reminder Please send all PTO requests via Liquid office.
KUDOS Medical Services AHS/CBO leadership congratulates Marcia Henderson and Melissa Matthews, (as both shown in photos on left) for receiving perfect scores on their au-dits. The CBO has recently implemented a new quarterly audit process for all its employ-ees, mirroring the same Liquid Office process that the Medical Ser-vices Early Out Division uses. Employee Satisfaction Survey Results
Earlier this year employees were provided the opportunity to participate in a confidential „Employee Satisfaction Survey‟ as coordinated by NACS Human Resources. The results shared below were noted as some of the five (5) top areas in which employees expressed NACS excels expectations, along with the areas ranked in which the company can aspire to improve to do better as follows:
NACS Company Top Strengths... (#1) I am proud to work at NACS. (#2) Voice mail is used appropriately. (#3 — for a tie) NACS is a good corporate citizen; we care about the community. (#3 — for a tie) Company publications keep me well informed. (#4) NACS is an ethical company.
Identified Opportunities at NACS for Improvement …
People are focused on solutions rather than blame. People think on a corporate level not what is best for them individually. Communication between departments is well coordinated. Employees treat other employees like customers. People “protect the absent”— they don‟t talk about others when they are not present.

THE 8TH HABIT®: FROM EFFECTIVENESS TO GREATNESS
In today's challenging and complex world, being highly effective is the price of entry to the playing field. To thrive, innovate, excel, and lead in this new reality, we must reach beyond effectiveness toward fulfillment, contribution, and greatness. Re-search is showing, however, that the majority of people are not thriving. They are neither fulfilled nor excited. Tapping into the higher reaches of human motivation requires a new mindset, a new skill-set --a new habit. Dr. Covey's new book, The 8th
Habit®: From Effectiveness to Greatness, is a roadmap to help you find daily fulfillment and excitement.
Over the past seven months we‟ve explored one of the following seven habits from „The 7 Habits
of Highly Effective People®,‟ series as written by Stephen R. Covey which have included:
1) BE PROACTIVE, 2) BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND, 3) PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST, 4)
THINK WIN-WIN, 5) SEEK FIRST TO UNDERSTAND, THEN TO BE UNDERSTOOD, 6) SYN-
ERGIZE, HABIT, and 7) SHARPEN THE SAW . This months issue we feature the final remain-
ing — „8th Habit: from Effectiveness to Greatness‟.
