Why Choose BUs Specialized MastersDegree vs. a Traditional MBA?In todays highly competitive business world, the pressure is on to stand out among
your peers. Tomorrows business leaders must be nimble, strategic visionaries that
can prepare organizations for innovation and change in the global economy.
The truth is that most conventional MBA programs have not kept pace with
modern business. By design, the siloed MBA curriculum lacks the breadth and
scope of what 21st century management education needs to beinterdisciplinary,
innovative, and tailored to the realities of todays complex business world.
The Graduate Programs in Management focus on fundamental management
skills, like being able to think strategically, holistically, and operationally about the
interconnectedness of the international economy. Such in-depth knowledge canonly be acquired through practical experience, advanced education, and a global
outlook; it is not gleaned from an MBA learning model that has remained largely
unchanged for decades. Career-oriented professionals choose the specialized
masters degree because the learning outcomes are immediately applicable and
strategically relevant for the next decade and beyond.
OTHER ADVANTAGES OF BUS SPECIALIZED MASTERS DEGREE:
Enjoy convenient 100% online study with no GRE or residency required.
Network with a community of 300,000 alumni upon graduation.

Master of Science in Business Continuity,Security & Risk Management
There are no guarantees in modern businessexcept that it will change.
This is arguably one of the only online programs in the nation that takes an
interdisciplinary approach to explore the multitude of complex challenges facing
not only businesses, but entire industries, such as the technology and social
shifts that threaten to make them obsolete.
Every day, risks to intellectual capital, company data, and physical assets, reveal
the vulnerability of doing business in the 21st century. Thats why our students
are challenged to think beyond the traditional view of risk management, disaster
preparedness, and recovery. While those core topics are important, the program
takes a much broader perspective in evaluating, measuring, and mitigating both
the downside and upside risks facing a company today.
Through investigative coursework, students learn how to think proactively,
anticipate market shifts, and plan for all possible scenarios that can disrupt
business activities. This program covers practical lessons from current events
to demonstrate that risk can emerge from anywhere, whether from within the
enterprise or externally from industry, environmental, and societal challenges.
Teaching from experience, the instructors lead high-level discussions and design
important simulation exercises that challenge students to think through issuesand find effective ways to solve them.

Master of Science in InternationalMarketing Management
Relying on traditional marketing logic, like the Four Ps model, is considered
illogical in todays consumer-driven economy. The rise of customer intelligence
and the rate of innovation have elevated the strategic influence of marketing
managers. Those who lead must adapt to rapid changes in the field of
international business. Thats why our online program prepares students for
career opportunities that are still on the horizon. To instill a forward-thinking
mindset in our students, we do not subscribe to the traditional paradigm of
marketing that most business schools follow.
This is truly an international marketing program, where students have the
opportunity to work with peers and professors from some of the worlds top
business schools. Beyond having the opportunity to learn cultural differences
firsthand, students also learn to adapt and make critical decisions at the
operational level by leveraging dynamic data, analytics, and real-time simulation
and deployment scenarios.

Master of Science in Project Management
Project management is the driving force of business in the 21st century. Project
management is not just about estimating costs and timelines; its also about conict
resolution, critical decision making, and understanding the interdisciplinary scope
from an operational perspective. In most graduate-level programs, students learn
from case studies. In this online program at BU, students learn from internationally
respected faculty members who worked on the projects that case studies were
written about like the Big Dig in Boston.
Our versatile program is applicable to existing and aspiring project managers,
regardless of industry or organization type. Students learn to manage multiple
projects of all sizes and understand how all of their corporate projects integrate
at the enterprise level. By going beyond the standard project management body
of knowledge in course design and instruction, students learn to think critically as
managers, induce performance, and solve cultural challenges. They also learn how to
respond to unforeseen obstacles and scenarios that arise during the project lifecycle.
With intensive coursework ranging from foundational project management
methods to communications management, project risk and cost management, and
megaproject management, experienced and accidental project managers alike are
equipped with the technical and socio-cultural skills needed to function successfully
in todays global economy.
