Time to Cut Expenses? You could spend hundreds, if not thousands of dollars in advertising to get the message out about your company’s products and services. OR, you could invest $25 to $35 per month (and some of your time) in membership dues for the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce – The 495 Chamber of Choice!

Think of all the possibilities: multiple networking opportunities at lunches and events, volunteer positions on committees to raise your profi le and connect with many others, educational seminars, contact lists available, sponsorships, Expo display space – the list goes on and on.

Like anything else, in order to get results out of your Chamber membership, you need to put some e� ort into it. It’s simple to do: for example, attend monthly networking events, place an insert in the newsletter, or even take advantage of the low cost advertising in the Chamber’s new home buyers mailing, to promote your business.

Mary Jo Nawrocki is a veteran educator with over 40 years of experience in public education. For 25 years she taught science, health and physical educa-tion at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School before being appointed Director of Curriculum and Student Assessment. Mary Jo continued her administrative career as Assabet’s principal and superintendent/director. After retiring in 2013, she began working as an adjunct professor for the Framingham State International Graduate Program and as a consultant for the Massachusetts Association of Regional Schools and the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Mary Jo received her Bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and her administrative leadership/curriculum degree from Lesley University.

I have truly been blessed to be part of this chamber for over 4 years. As part of my philosophy to give back to those who give into me I opted to become an ambassador a little over a year ago. Having only been in my business for 6 years I know what it’s like when starting out how important it is to be connected to the right people. Realizing often times it’s crucial in the first year of membership that a new chamber member gets the support and information they need to be successful, I take quite seriously my job as a secondary voice and an additional ear to listen to the concerns of chamber members. It has truly been a joy meeting all of the businesses that have come aboard in my first term as an ambassa-dor. Whether it be curling, escape room adventures or ballroom dancing, I know that they’re all vital members of our community.
