Columbine Grand Chapter mourns the loss of two Past Matrons, PM Esliva Hilton Gilbert of Evergreen Chapter No. 3, and PM Carolyn Bass of Queen Esther Chapter No. 2. They had both served several appointed positions within Columbine Grand Chapter, and they both loved to participate in the Queen Contest.

I travelled to Jackson, Mississippi on May 14, 2014 to attend the Conference of Grand Matrons. I was accompanied by the Grand Associate Matron Freddie Cooper, PWGM Annette Harris, PGWM Mary Jane Neal, PM Alton Smith and PP Torrence Neal. The Jurisdiction of Mississippi rolled out the red carpet, and their hospitality was outstand-ing, we were treated to chocolate covered strawberries, peanuts, and sparkling grape juice. We were transported by bus and van to their lodge for the Jurisdiction hospitality, where they served over 500 sisters and brothers that were seated at their lodge. The Grand Worthy Matron of Mississippi treated all Past Grand Worthy Matrons and Past Grand Worthy Patrons to breakfast on Saturday morning.

Thanks to all the Sisters and Brothers that have shown so much love and concern for PGWP J. Douglas Vaughn-Harris. Special thanks to PM Linda Green-Haywood for all the support she has given to the Bass Family, and also special thanks to WM Antoinette and WP Ed Dow for all the assistance they provided to the family of PM Esliva Hil-ton Gilbert.
