8:00 am – Dairy Goat show starts, leads to Pygmy goats show and leads straight into market breeding

goat show and finally Market goat show. Takes place in the small show arena.

8:00 am – Breeding rabbit show starts, then leads into the market show. To take place in the Tractor

Pavilion on the north side of the fairgrounds.

8:00 am – Breeding Hog show starts in the large show arena and moves int the market show.

10:00 am – Dog show starts. To take place in the Tractor pavilion on the north side of the fairgrounds.

Sunday September 6th, 2020

8:00 am – Breeding sheep show starts leading into the market lamb show taking place in the small

arena.

Constitution of the Junior Fair Board Article I Membership: Any boy or girl who resides in Morrow County, attends school in Morrow County, and who is enrolled in a youth organization that is based in Morrow County, (4-H, FFA, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts) , or has met approval of membership through the youth organization that is consistent with their state rules for(i.e. Cross County line membership in 4-H) and is 15 years of age as of January 1 of the current year or a freshman in high school, and has not reached their 19th birthday as of January 1st of current year, will be eligible to become a member of the Junior Fair Board. EXCEPTION: FFA members who are still in High School AND in FFA may show if they are 19 or under, despite not being 4-H age.

1. Junior Fair Board members must abide by all rules governing Junior Fair. 2. Any member found smoking, drinking, chewing, or anything else illegal for minors will be removed permanently &

immediately from the board. If you are in a place where people look up to you (role model) you are not to do any of the above even if you are of legal age.

Article II The Junior Fair Board will consist of at least 25 members with representatives as follows: 5 representatives from FFA 10 representatives from 4-H Clubs 1 Boy Scout representative 1 Girl Scout representative In each case the chairman of each county group will be responsible for reporting membership selection to the Junior Fair Coordinator by November 15th. Article III All members will be selected for a term of 1 year. Each member may return with Junior Fair Board Advisor approval after a year end evaluation, and Junior Fair eligibility not being exceeded. Those with a negative evaluation may be asked not to return the next year. Article IV The organizational meeting will be held in January of each year. Members interested in serving as an officer must turn in an application by December 20th. Elections will be held in January of each year. There will be NO nominations from the floor UNLESS no one applies for the position. Article V Junior Fair Advisory Committee: This committee will serve in advisory capacity to the Junior Fair Board. THE PURPOSE OF THIS COMMITTEE is:

1. To be a liaison between the board and the organization they represent. 2. To provide advice and guidance to the board. 3. To assist in establishing and enforcing rules pertaining to Junior Fair.

Members of the Advisory committee will serve 1-year terms and will be selected by their respective organizations. Committee members should report to the Junior Fair Coordinator no later than November 15th. Membership will consist of a MINIMUM of the following: 1 Junior Fair Coordinator 1 Vocational Representative 7 4-H Volunteers 1 Member of the County Extension Office Staff 1 Advisor from each: Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts 4 Directors of the Morrow County Agricultural Society To report selection of these members a letter should be sent to: Junior Fair Coordinator P.O. Box 168 Mt. Gilead, Ohio 4333 Article VI ANY member OR advisor who cannot attend a meeting MUST CALL THE JUNIOR FAIR COORDINATOR BEFORE the meeting. An excused absence is: -Death in family -Family/personal illness -School activity in which you participate, county, state or national award trips -Or the discretion of the Coordinator Two unexcused absences can lead to dismissal from the board. If a member needs to be replaced, each organization will be responsible for their member. Any member who finds they will not be able to be at the fair, must give WRITTEN notice to the board by the June meeting. An additional member will be added to the board to help with summer activities and be an active member on the board. The new member will be eligible based on % of time on the board.

Article VII A Junior Fair Board Member MUST exhibit in the Junior Fair the current year of term. Article VIII If a Junior Fair Board Member wishes to resign, a letter of resignation must be addressed to: Junior Fair Board PO Box 168 Mt. Gilead, Ohio 43338 Article IX Proposed changes to the Constitution and rules governing the Junior Fair must be submitted in writing to the Junior Fair Coordinator no later than October 30th. Article X The Executive Committee will be made up of: President Secretary/Treasurer in Training Vice-President Historian Secretary County Extension Advisor Treasurer Junior Fair Coordinator Parliamentary Officer A MINIMUM of 5, present to do business as Executive Committee. Regular meetings require 51% of the whole board in attendance to vote on issues. Article XI ANY Junior Fair Board member or Royalty (male OR female), may NOT be or have been married or be a parent. Article XII Code of Conduct will be followed along with all rules in Junior and Senior Fair Books. Article XIII Award and T-Shirt committees of 5 will be standing committees.

RULES GOVERNING THE JUNIOR FAIR

Eligibility Eligibility for Morrow County Jr. Fair participation is possible when the following requirements are met: 1) A child is enrolled in 3rd grade AND is at least age 8 as of January 1 of current year. EXCEPTION: Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Brownie Scouts. 2) A child has not reached their 19th birthday as of January 1 of current year (or eligibility ends December 31 of year child turns 19 years old. EXCEPT FFA members who are still in High School may show if they are 19 or under and in FFA despite not being 4-H age. 3) Child is a member of one of the following Morrow County youth organizations: 4-H, FFA, BSA Scouts and Girl Scouts. 4) Child is a Morrow County Resident or student enrolled in a Morrow County School District or a child has met the approval of membership through the youth organization that is consistent with their state rules (i.e. Cross county line membership for 4-H) 5) Boys and girls who reside outside of Morrow County but are members of Morrow County Youth groups must direct a letter to the Junior Fair Coordinator, P.O. 168, Mt. Gilead, Ohio 43338 giving reason for wishing to participate in the Morrow County Fair. EXCEPTION: 4-H members are to contact the Morrow County 4-H Agent. 6) Any exhibitor in the Junior Fair shall be eligible to exhibit in the Senior Fair by making proper entry as set forth in the Rules and Regulations of the Morrow County Agricultural Society. Animal Entry Rules

1. Animals will be limited to 2 animals per species. Example: 2 Breeding, 2 Market or 1 breeding and 1 market. Family Animal Two family market animals maybe weighed in or have ID paperwork turned in for each family. Example: Each child can turn in up to 5 ID papers and then the family can turn ID paperwork for 2 additional market animals under the family name. This child then has the option to bring up to any 2 of these animals. A child may not bring an animal that was entered in under a sibling’s name on the ID forms, only those entered under their own name or the family name. General Livestock rules 1. Health Regulations for the Senior Fair will apply to the Junior Fair Livestock (view posted document rules) 2. Livestock exhibited in the Junior Fair must be owned by exhibitor (parent/ guardian), cared for and fed by the exhibitor by June 1, current year. EXCEPTION: Steers and market heifers must be owned by December 1 of prior year. Please be prepared to show proof of age and possession date if asked. 3. A given exhibit can show in only one class, except for showmanship, in a group or the horse area. 4. All animals weighed/checked in by one exhibitor at the pre-fair date must be shown by the same exhibitor.

5. Any exhibit entered through one youth organization cannot be entered through another youth organization. 6. Judges will place top 5 Market Overall animals. 7. If an animal has been entered in as a breeding animal and a market animal and goes over the scales it will be declared a MARKET animal. 8. Weight discrepancy is settled on the scales. If there is a discrepancy on the scales, the animal will be taken off the scales, scales will be swept off and zeroed out, animal will be put back on the scale and reweighed. 2nd weight will be the recorded weight. 9. Underweight and overweight market animals will be shown and graded in special classes and not allowed to compete for Grand Champion or sell. 10. There are to be no fresh tattoos or ear notches on registered animals. Tattoos or ear notches are to be totally healed, show no redness or irritation. 11. All market animals are to be drug free when they come on the grounds. If not, the Drug Use Notification Form must show the complete drug information and be properly filled out and signed. Failure to comply will be cause for disciplinary action. 12. Entries in Poultry Broiler classes may be any commercial type meat chickens. These birds may be de-beaked, dubbed, or subjected to any practice generally accepted in commercial production of meat type poultry. 13. Livestock owners must keep area clean and animals fed. 14. All exhibitors must be present with their exhibit at the time of judging unless excused by the Executive Committee of the Junior Fair Board. Anyone who shows a project for another exhibitor must be an exhibitor of the Morrow County Junior Fair between the ages of 8(3rd grade) and 19. If the above rule is not followed the project will not be judged. 15. ALL LIVESTOCK ENTERED IN THE JUNIOR FAIR COMPETITION MUST BE HOUSED IN THE AREA DESIGNATED BY THE MORROW COUNTY JUNIOR FAIR BOARD. Breaking of this rule may be cause for dismissal from the fair. 16. Dead Animal Policy: Animal will be removed immediately from the grounds. Family will be contacted and will remove it from the grounds as soon as possible. 17. All Grand Champion Market Beef, Swine, Sheep and Goats must be sent to slaughter. 18. Drenching of an animal is prohibited unless diagnosed AND prescribed by a licensed veterinarian, AND a Veterinarian MUST be present when the drenching takes place. All veterinarian prescriptions for drenching also need approval of and kept on file at the Jr Fair Office. Animals needing to be bottle fed must also be approved by Jr. Fair Board. (This rule excludes rabbit waters and nipple waters for hogs.)

- Drenching of an animal is defined as the act of using an instrument placed in an animal’s mouth to orally administer a

liquid. Examples of instruments are, but not limited to drench gun, syringes, bottles, bottles with nipples, straws, hose,

pipe, hand, etc.

19. Animals MUST be castrated and HEALED by fair. If NOT, animals will not be able to Show or Sell.

20. 2:3 Rule is used to help set classes for show. If this rule applies you must have 2 exhibitors and 3 animals to make a class. Each

exhibitor is allowed only 2 entries (animals) per class EXCEPT Feeders/Market Beef which may enter 3. ALWAYS list your breed, we

will place you in AOB if need be after entries are made.

Pre-addressed Thank You notes will be attached to awards. Award winners are responsible for mailing them to the donor. 22. Articles exhibited must have been made, grown, or produced since the last fair. Practices not reflecting real world agriculture practices and techniques are discouraged. Livestock should be raised and cared for with the spirit and purpose of the project in mind. Entry Deadlines and Rules 1.Deadline for entries will be August 8th of the current year. 2.CODE of CONDUCT will be enforced. All exhibitors will sign one on their entry form.

MANDATORY LIVESTOCK SKILL-A-THONS, QUALITY ASSURANCE, AND DRUG USE Ohio Junior Fair Exhibitors who have projects in the following categories MUST complete a Drug Use Notification Form (DUNF) and a QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM (QA) before exhibiting their animals at the County Fair. This includes Market steers/heifers, feeder calves, hogs, lambs, goats, lactating goats, poultry, market/breeding rabbits, lactating and non-lactating dairy cows, horses, llamas, dogs. All other animal projects (excluding llamas, dogs, cats, and small animals) must also attend Quality Assurance session BUT do not need to fill out a DUNF. It must be understood that if the QA program and the DUNF are not completed you will NOT be allowed to enter or exhibit at the fair. Morrow County requires that a parent/guardian of the exhibitor attend a QA program as well, if their child is a first- and second-year livestock exhibitor, REGUARDLESS OF AGE. All MARKET ANIMALS ARE TO BE DRUG FREE WHEN THEY COME ON THE GROUNDS. If not, THE Drug Use Notification Form must show the complete information and be properly filled out and signed. Parents MUST sign this form no matter the age of the exhibitor. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL BE CAUSE FOR DISCIPLINARY ACTION. 1. All Junior Fair Exhibitors taking animals will participate in a Skill-a-thon for each project they take to the fair. This includes (BREEDING & MARKET) hogs, sheep, beef, dairy, poultry, feeders, rabbits, goats, horses’ llamas, and dogs. 2. Any Junior Fair exhibitor who does NOT participate in Skill-a-thon WILL NOT show, sell, or receive their premium for the area not completed. 3. Age groups will be divided according to showmanship guidelines. Age as of January 1 of the current year. 4. Senior (16-19), Intermediate (13-15), Junior (11-12), Beginner (8-10) Age 8 AND in the THIRD grade.

TAMPERING & MISREPRESENTATION GUIDELINES MORROW COUNTY JUNIOR & SENIOR FAIR

Tampering and/or misrepresentation as to breeding, age, ownership, custody, and any irregularity in showing or judging will be considered fraud and deception. This applies to all Junior and Senior Fair judging as well as the livestock judging. To maintain a high degree of confidence and integrity in the livestock shows, the Morrow County Agricultural Society reserves the right to disqualify the exhibitor and the exhibitor’s assistant who fitted the animal involved. The following is a listing of guidelines all exhibitors must follow to enter livestock at the Morrow County Fair.

• All exhibitors must have viable proof of ownership available to prove length of time animals have been owned.

• Market animals and breeding animals must be owned and under exhibitor’s daily care according to established rules and regulations for the fair. This also includes all small market animals.

• The official ownership date is the date shown on the bill of sale, unless the animal was bred by the exhibitor, in which calving, or birth records must be shown.

• Registered breeding livestock must show the exhibitor as the sole owner of the animal on the breed association papers or certificates.

• All Junior Fair breeding projects must be in the exhibitor’s or exhibitor’s immediate family name.

• Any other Junior Fair livestock animal and animal projects must be in possession by June 1st.

• No exhibitor may show an animal which has previously sold at an auction or sale as a market animal through another fair or livestock show whether or not there is an actual change of ownership. (progressive level of show excluded)

• Any method used to misrepresent the age of an animal for a class in which it is shown is deceptive and considered illegal.

• Showing an animal for another individual by claiming ownership in order to show in a specific livestock class is prohibited.

• False ownership is illegal. During the fair, in case of animals requiring treatment, all medications shall be administered by a licensed veterinarian and the livestock show officials shall be notified. Fill out NEW DUNF in Jr Fair Office. The proper form for reporting medications administered to animals can be picked up in the fair secretary’s office or Junior Fair office and must by filled out and filed with either the Junior Fair Coordinator for Junior Fair or the Fair Secretary for Senior Fair. Direct criticism or interference with the judge, show management, other exhibitors, breed representatives or show officials, during or after the competitive event is prohibited. If this happens the Code of Conduct will cover these problems.

Responsibilities of and assistance given to Junior Fair Exhibitors 901-19-31

(A) A junior livestock show exhibitor shall be responsible for the continuous care, grooming and preparation of the livestock entered in the junior livestock show. (B) An exhibitor may receive assistance in the care, grooming and preparation of the livestock entered in the junior livestock show provided that the assistance shall be limited to explanation or minimal demonstration provided by the following: (1) Family Members. (2) Household members.

(3) Advisors or adult volunteers of 4-H or FFA in the exhibitor's club or county. (4) Vocational agriculture instructors. (5) County extension educators. (6) Department representatives. (7) Veterinarians. (8) Members of the exhibitor's 4-H club, FFA chapter or other youth organizations. In the question of a rule violation, the following due process will be used and recorded:

• The exhibitor and/or parties involved will be questioned by the Sr. Fair Department Head and by the Junior Fair Department Head and the responsible Junior Fair Board Advisor for that department if Junior Fair is involved.

• If it is felt a violation has occurred, Fair officials will make recommendations to the designated ethics committee of the Morrow County Agricultural Society. After the committee hears the allegations and/or evidence, they will decide if the case should be brought before the full Board of Directors.

• In the decision of allegations being brought before the Board, all parties involved will be notified of a meeting date and time with all parties having the right to present their views and/or evidence.

• Upon hearing the case, the Fair board will make a ruling. All rulings will be made within 24 hours of the allegations.

• When satisfactory evidence has been obtained by the Fair board that any of the livestock rules or rules governing the other departments of the fair have been violated the exhibitor and/or the exhibitor's family may be barred from showing in future agricultural fairs. The minimum number of years of disbarment is three (3) years before the right to a review. In case any premium shall have been awarded to animals or exhibitors shown in violation of this rule, the Fair board will require the exhibitor to refund all premiums, trophies, awards, ribbons and sale money under each violation. Unless fraud and/or deception are involved, all championship placings will stand.

• Protests awards in any of the departments of the fair must be made in writing, signed and sworn to and clearly set forth. Protest - Witness– Account forms may be obtained in the Secretary's office on the fairgrounds. The grounds of protest must be filed with the Secretary of the Morrow County Agricultural Society not later than one day after the awards are made.

• If the protest is made by anyone other than a Senior or Junior Fair board member of the Morrow County Agricultural Society, a $25.00 protest fee must accompany the protest account which will be retained by the Morrow County Agricultural Society if the protest is not sustained.

Prohibited Grooming Practices 901-19-33

This is a mandatory rule The following grooming practices are prohibited in junior market livestock shows

a. Using any substance to enhance or change the color of the livestock, including the livestock’s hide or hooves. b. Adding any substance externally to build up, change or alter the shape or conformation of the livestock, including by

way of example but not limited to rope, false hair, graphite, hemp, and powders. c. Pigmented grooming aides or materials; and d. Slick clipping or body shaving of market hogs except on the ears and tail.

Showmanship

Showmanship is not required to receive a premium for a completed project

As an animal exhibitor, showmanship is your chance to shine as an individual. Showmanship classes give you the opportunity to exhibit

the knowledge you have acquired and the showing techniques you have learned. We want to encourage all our exhibitors to participate

in a showmanship class for each of the species they bring to the fair.

Showmanship classes begin with the Senior class and move down to the Beginner class giving the younger exhibitors the chance to

watch and learn from the more experienced.

Showmanship classes will be divided and judged according to the following age categories (except horses): (Age as of January 1,current

year) Senior – 16 to 18; Intermediate – 13 to 15; Junior – 11 to 12; Beginner – 8 to 10 (Age 8 and in the third grade)

Your attire for showmanship classes, as well as the judging classes should show respect for yourself and the events you are entering.

Below are recommendations for the different species:

Market Goats: Dark pants, white collared shirt, sturdy shoes.

Dairy Goat: White Pants, White collared shirt, sturdy shoes.

Pygmy: White or khaki pants, white collared shirt, sturdy shoes.

Dairy Cattle: White pants, white collared shirt (may have farm logo), sturdy shoes.

Beef Cattle: Dark pants, collared shirt, sturdy shoes.

Horse: Long sleeve Western or English attire, western hat should have a minimum of a 2” brim, boots.

Swine: Dark jeans, collared shirt, sturdy shoes.

Rabbit: Long sleeve white shirt or jacket, slacks or jeans.

Poultry: Long sleeve white shirt or jacket, slacks or jeans.

Llama & Alpacas: Dark pants or jeans, collared shirt (long or short sleeved), sturdy shoes.

Except for the horse division, you should not wear a hat. Stay away from shirts with print, sandals and shorts. Also, make sure you have

all the appropriate equipment for your specie and know how to use it while in the class. Be sure to sign up for the appropriate class and

Master Showman from each species will be selected from the current year Beginner, Junior, Intermediate and Senior class champions

and Past Senior Showmanship winners who are still exhibiting as Junior Fair exhibitors. The Master Showman contest will be held at

the end of the regular species showmanship event except for horses (see horse department schedule), all goats will have theirs on

Saturday during the Market goat show and feeder calves will have theirs at the end of the Dairy Feeder showmanship. There must be a

minimum of two (2) participants to warrant the contest. You may win master more than one.

Participants in showmanship contests must show an animal, which they have entered and exhibited, in the Junior Fair.

JUNIOR FAIR AWARDS

Applications for the following awards will be available from the County Extension Office, on the Extension website or the Junior Fair Office at the fairgrounds. Applications must be completed and returned by August 6th of the current year, at the Junior Fair Office. The following awards may be won only once by an exhibitor. You may apply for any or all the awards and may receive only one award per year. Exceptions may be made by the Junior Fair Board advisors who are responsible for the selection of winners.

MORROW COUNTY SCHOLARSHIP

SPONSOR: MORROW COUNTY SENIOR FAIR BOARD

The Morrow County Scholarship Awards are presented each year to outstanding Morrow County Junior Fair Exhibitors, one boy and one girl. The $250.00 Scholarship Award honors youth achievements and assist with their education and training beyond the High School level.

1. Basis of Award a. Activity and leadership in local youth organizations b. Sportsmanship and conduct at the Fair c. Citizenship d. Student must be entered or entering an accredited, post-high school academic program. e. Individual may only receive the scholarship once. 2. Monies are given to help with college expenses.

LEADERSHIP AWARD

SPONSOR: THE MORROW COUNTY REPUBLICAN CENTRAL COMMITTEE

Presented Tuesday evening, 6:30 p.m., before Queen/King Contest in Youth Building. Leadership Awards are presented each year to Outstanding Morrow County Junior Fair Exhibitors-two deserving exhibitors (preferably one boy and one girl). 1. Steers and Market Heifers must have been owned and cared for by the Exhibitor since December 1, of prior calendar year. 2. Steers and Market Heifers will be weighed once. This will be the official weight throughout the Fair. Any discrepancy or questions of weight by the owner shall be decided and settled while the animal is on the scales. 3. Steers and Market Heifers must weigh 800 pounds and up. 4. Underweight steers and market heifers will be shown and graded in special classes and are not allowed to compete for Grand Champion or sell. 5. Registered steers must show registration papers at check in. Breed is declared at the December weigh-in. 6.There are to be no fresh tattoos on registered animals. Tattoos are to be totally healed, show no redness or irritation. 7. If an animal does not have registration papers it will be placed in the crossbred class. The Morrow County Cattlemen's Association (MCCA) will sponsor a bred and owned Heifer Class for Morrow County Jr. Fair participants. a. Heifer must qualify under rules and classification of a junior fair project. b. Heifer must have legal registration from breed association. Crossbreds do not qualify. c. Exhibitor must be the breeder and owner of his/her heifer. Registration papers need to be turned in on move in day of fair.

Farm names will not be accepted must have individual's name only. Tattoos must be legible and match papers. d. MCCA reserves the right to break classes if necessary. 8. Steers and Market Heifers can be shown with grooming products that are approved for use on meat animals. State rule: any product which changes, enhances, or alters the natural color of the animal will not be permitted. Included, but not limited to: paints, dye, powders, non-clear adhesives, and foams or shoe polish. This will also apply to Morrow County. See General livestock Rules, Tampering and Misrepresentation Guidelines found towards the front of the book.

We will use the State Fair breed qualifications. You can pick up a copy in the Junior Fair office if you need to see it.

Dairy Breeds are Ayrshire, Brown Swiss, Guernsey, Holstein, Jersey, and Milking Shorthorn.

1. Feeder Calves are to be born from January 1 thru April 1 of the current year.

2. Feeder calves may be male or female. Beef and Dairy Calves must be weaned, dehorned, castrated (males), cutting or banding is recommended, MUST be healed. If not, the animal will be dismissed from fair.

3. The calves will be weighed once. This will be the official weight. Any discrepancy or question of weight by the owner shall be decided and settled while the animal is still on the scales.

4. Underweight and overweight feeder calves will be shown and graded in special classes and not allowed to compete for Grand Champion and cannot sell. They also may not compete in BBR classes. 5. Feeder Calves are to weigh from 350 to 799 pounds.

6. The Dairy Feeder Show will be divided into light weight, medium weight, and heavy weight classes. The Grand Champion and

Reserve Grand Champion Dairy Feeder will be chosen from these weight class champions.

7. Mixed Feeders/Heifers are defined under this rule: American dairy breeds are defined as Ayrshire, Brown Swiss, Guernsey,

Holstein, Jersey, Milking Shorthorn or a combination of these only! If the animal is a dairy breed not listed as an American dairy

breed, crossed with one of the American breeds or crossed with a beef breed it will show as a Mixed Feeder. This class will have a

Champion and Reserve sponsored by the Dairy Board.

8. Calves must be dehorned and healed.

2. Dogs must be at least six months of age at completion of project.

3. All dogs are required to have the following inoculations/vaccinations: Distemper (CDV); adenovirus (CAV-2); leptospirosis; parvovirus (CPV), and Para influenza (CPI). Rabies is a required vaccination without exception. You must have a health certificate. PLEASE show when checking in.

4. All dogs are required to carry a current license from the county.

5. Each exhibitor may show only two Obedience dogs - and not more than one in any single class. Applies to Classes J01 through J11.

6. Each exhibitor may show only one dog in Showmanship classes.

Harness and Pack goat classes do not need a breed clarification.

C30 Pack Goat – any age, any ability (1st yr. goat should be able to carry an empty pack and should be able to navigate with the

exhibitor like they are on a trail. This is NOT a glorified obstacle course. 2nd yr. goat should navigate with exhibitor and be able to

carry a light load in their pack. 3rd yr. goat should be able to navigate with exhibitor and be able to carry a heavy pack.) If you have

C31 Harness Goat (year 1) - goats must be halter broken and led on a lead strap. Animal should respond to voice commands of stop,

go, back, left, and right.

C32 Harness Goat (year 2) - goats will be harnessed and pull an empty cart. The animal should respond to voice commands of stop,

go, back, left, and right.

C33 Harness Goat (year 3) - goats will be harnessed and pull a child-driven cart. The animal must respond to commands of stop, go,

back, left, and right while pulling the cart through an obstacle course.

General Rules

All goats, claiming to be a specific breed must have a copy of breed registration papers. If you have no registration papers they

will show as utility animals. Registration papers will be due move in day of fair. Animals must be checked in before unloading in

the barn!!

1. Goats will be weighed once. This will be the official weight. Any discrepancy or question of weight by the owner shall be decided

and settled while the animal is still on the scale. All underweight market goats will be shown and graded in a special class and are

not allowed to compete for champion.

2. Dairy breeding and Market goats MUST be shorn before show day.

3. Exhibitors are always to keep water in front of their goats.

4. Dairy goats are to be shown with choker chains. Pygmy goats are to be shown with collars and a short lead.

5. Registered Boer breeding goats and Angora goats can have horns.

6. Scrapie ID All goats (Junior and Senior Fair) including wethers. When you are buying an animal, it should have a Scrapie tag already

in it before you take it home. If you need information on how to get Scrapie tags for your animals, contact the Jr. Fair office (947-

1567) or the Extension office (947-1070) Scrapie Record Cards (provided by the fair, at fair or on request) Scrapie cards are to be

turned in at the fair during goat check in.

7. There are to be no fresh tattoos on registered animals. Tattoos are to be totally healed, show no redness or irritation.

9. Bracing or not bracing of goats is a personal preference and is up to the exhibitor.

1. All birds are required to have a hatchery paper or bill of sale to prove ownership and hatch dates, provide this at fair check-in.

2. All turkeys, chickens and game birds moved within or imported into Ohio for exhibition must:

- Originate directly from a flock or hatchery which is a participant in the National Poultry Improvement Plan for the Eradication of

Disease and be accompanied by documentary evidence that they meet the requirement of this paragraph; or

- Originate directly from a flock which has had a negative test for pullorum/fowl typhoid disease within twelve months preceding the

opening date of exhibition and be accompanied by documentary evidence that they meet the requirement of this paragraph; or -Have

had a negative test for pullorum/fowl typhoid disease, within ninety days preceding the opening date of the exhibition and be

accompanied by documentary evidence that they meet the requirements of this paragraph. (No testing for 2020 Fair)

- Waterfowl, doves, and pigeons are exempt from this rule.

3. ALL MARKET PROJECTS ARE TO BE BANDED AT WEIGH IN.

4. Each domesticated bird exhibited shall be inspected by the Fair Veterinarian.

5. Breeding poultry should be under 1 year of age.

6. If a poultry project is found to be older than the allowed age, it may be judged, but is not eligible for champion or to sell.

7. Underweight and Overweight Broilers will be shown and graded in special classes and are not eligible to compete for Grand

Champion nor sell.

1. Market rabbits will be weighed once, and this will be the official weight of the fair. Any discrepancy or question by the owner shall be decided while the animal is on the scales.

2. The exhibitor/parent must be present during the weigh in/check in

3. Underweight and overweight rabbits/pen of threes will be shown and graded in special classes and not allowed to compete for Grand Champion or sell.

4. An Exhibitor may enter 2 single fryers and 2 breeding; 1 pen of three and 2 breeding; 1 single fryer and 3 breeding; or 4 breeding.

** The Pen of Three Market Rabbits shall consist of three rabbits, all the same breed and variety. Broken meat pens must also be of the same variety. It is not necessary that they be from the same litter. The age and weight are the same as for a single market rabbit - no more than 12 weeks of age and each rabbit are to weigh from 3.5 to 5.5pounds.

6. There will be Champion and Reserve Champion single market rabbit and Champion and Reserve Champion 'pen of three' market

rabbits.

7. Breeding Rabbits will be shown in groups according to breed; Market in groups by weight.

8. There must be at least three rabbits and two breeders to be deemed a breed champion. All classes with less will be combined into one class. This class will be called “All Other Breeds”.

9. Mixed Breed breeding rabbits are not eligible for Best or Reserve Best of Show.

1. This is the official weight of the Fair. Any discrepancy or question of the weight by the owner shall be decided while the animal

2. All market lambs are to be slick sheared (¼” or less) at fair weigh in, unless breed declares otherwise, Example: Hair breeds.

3. Lambs will weigh 90 pounds and up.

4. Market lambs must be under 1 year of age and show lamb teeth at Fair weigh in.

5. Underweight Market Lambs will be shown and graded in special classes and not allowed to compete for Grand Champion or sell.

6. Market lambs will be shown in groups based on breeds.

7. Lambs entered in Breeding Classes may not be shown as Market Lambs.

8. In Class F05 there must be three per breed to be deemed champion. All classes with less will be combined into one class – All Other Breeds. The All Other Breeds Class may consist of less than 3 animals because breed papers have been registered with the Junior Fair office. If an animal does not have breed papers, it will be placed in the crossbred class.

9. The Breeding Show will run by breed while alternating breeds in this order: Yearling Ram, Ram Lamb, Champion Ram, Yearling Ewe, Ewe Lamb, Champion Ewe.

10. All sheep are to have Scrapie tags, including wethers. When you are buying an animal, it should have a Scrapie tag already in it

before you take it home. If you need information on how to get Scrapie tags for your animals, contact, the Jr. Fair Office (947-1567).

Or the Extension office (947-1070) Scrapie Record Cards (provided by the fair) are to be turned in at the fair.

1. Market Swine will be weighed once to determine the official weight for the fair. Any discrepancy of weight shall be decided and settled while the animal is on the scales. If there are no breed registration papers shown the hog will be placed in the crossbred class. The hog must have a legible tattoo, tag, or ear notch that matches what is on the registration form.

2. All market swine must have a measurable ½” of body hair on the entire body except for the tail and ears which may be of shorter length. Hair length will be checked on the scales at weigh in and as the animal is in the chute before entering the show arena.

3. Market Swine must weigh 220 pounds and up.

4. Underweight Market Swine will be shown and graded in special classes and not allowed to compete for Grand Champion.

5. There must be three per breed to be deemed champion. All classes with less will be combined into one class called All Other Breeds. The All Other Breeds Class may consist of less than 3 animals because breed papers have been registered with the Junior Fair office. If an animal does not have breed registration papers, it will be placed in the crossbred class.

6. Gilts shown in breeding classes are not to be shown as market hogs. There is to be no cross over from Junior to Senior Fair. Breeding is breeding and market is market.

7. Hogs are to show clean and with water only applied to the animal. No powders, paint, oil or adhesives.

8. 2:3 Rule is used to help set classes for show, you must have 2 exhibitors and 3 animals to make a class. For BBR classes it will be by Breed. For Breeding Swine, it will be by Breed and age.
