PRACTICE

• At practice we start out as a group and we stretch and sometimes we do the speed program. When we are done doing that we all go practice our events or we weight lift. If we practice our events then, some of the runners go run all over the school grounds for ten minutes and then they go back and practice their other events.

• The throwers either weight lift or we go throw outside, an some times if we don’t have a lot of time we have indoor shot-puts we will just throw indoors or we can go outside an we stay after practice and get help or we get extra practice by staying after.

PICTURES

These pictures are of some of the throwers that have

been on the team in the last three or four years.

some of them have graduated and others are still

here. I don’t have a lot of pictures from last year

because I wasn’t able to participate.

MEETS

• For our meets we tend to leave school early or a little after school depending on where we have to travel to. When we get there we all practice our events a little bit and find where we go and do our events.

• When our events are done we cheer on our teammates to try to help them out by pushing them to do their best.

FIELD EVENTS

• Shot Put

• Discus

• High Jump

• Pole Volt

• Long Jump

FIELD

• High Jump

• Pole Volt

• Long Jump

o High jump, long jump, and pole volt are different, because you have to mark out all you footing and keep it the same every time an make adjustments as you go that way you don’t mess up, an you do your best. Every event has different footing and everyone has different footing so it takes time, so if you don’t have the right footing you might mess up.

• Shot Put

• Discus

o Shot put an discus is kind of the same thing, it takes lot of foot work and you have to have your speed just right when you are throwing so you don’t mess up.

RUNNING EVENTS

4x 200

4 x 400

4 x 100

4x 800

All running events are different. They have short distance, long distance, hurdles and relays.

You also have to find your footing when you are in running event’s, so you don’t mess up and when you are in relays you don’t trip each other and mess each other up.

100 hurdle

300 hurdles

400m run

100m run

800m run

1600 (Mile)

3200 (Two Mile)

These are individual events.

There are some events that are relays.

RUNNING EVENT PICTURES

RUNNING

• In the running events some are different, depending on what running events you are in. You have relays, the mile and then the other running events. They are all different because you have to have the right footing for all of them. l If you are in a relay you an you relay group have to have the right footing so when you have to do the hand off you don’t trip each other.

REGIONALS

• In the past 6 the girls took four regional titles in a row and the last two years we have taken second.

• The girls have qualified for the MITCA TEAM States for 5 years in a row at Gobles High School.

This is the most recent picture that I have.
