1D- Miss Duiz In English this week students are continuing to draft their persuasive speeches on a topic of their choice. In Maths, students are working on volume and capacity. Many students will be receiving their merit level awards at this weeks assembly so it would be lovely to see a large amount of parents, carers and visitors. Have a lovely week!

Stage 1 AP- Miss Duiz Wow, can you believe it is Mid-term break already? This Thursday we have some students from Louth Pubic School visiting 1C and 1D classrooms to complete activities in English, Maths, Scripture and Assembly. This Thursday is also Grandparents Day. Stage One classes will be in Maths classes during open classrooms. It would be lovely to see you come along.

NESA CEO Visit

Early Stage 1 AP- Miss Mowbray Week 5 already and another busy week! Grandparents Day is on this Thursday 9th November for the Wombats and K-6 and on Tuesday 7th November for the Dingoes. We will have open classrooms and the Wombats will be in KM doing some fun activities. We also have Infants Assembly this Thursday so please come along and celebrate our stduents achievements. Don’t forget Mid-term break this week too! Have a fantastic week!

KF- Miss Finch WOW week 5 already! This term is flying by. In Maths this week KF are looking at 3D shapes and finding them in our environment. KF should be very proud of their writng lately. This week we are reading ‘I love me’. I cant wait to see the writing that is produced. This weekend is Mid-term break. Have a great weekend. See you all on Tuesday.

Welcome to Week 5! In English this week we will be looking at a new range of books and starting our new persuasive writing. In Maths, we will begin to look at the topic Mass and have conversations about how much things weigh. In Art, the students will be looking at the artist Henri Matisse and his famous artworks about Waterlillies. Have a fantastic Mid- term break!

KM- Miss Mowbray KM are very busy this week! In Writing we will be publishing our stories about the book The Green Turtle and our sound of the week is the blend tr. In Maths we are focusing on 3D shapes. In Music KM will be learning about repeating and copying rhythm with musical instruments. No swimming this week because of the Mid term Break. 3H- Miss Heaney Welcome to week 5! 3H will be creating poems based on Mermaida from The 13-Storey Treehouse. Students will be focusing on using adjectives to describe her thoughts and feelings. During Maths Year 6 will be looking at chance and data. Don’t forget to purchase year 6 farewell tickets from the office, it is coming up quickly! During afternoon sessions 3H will be looking at the Why Live Where unit in Geography. Please make sure your child has a hat to wear on the playground! Happy Mid-term break!

2D- Miss Dorrington

This week we will continue the journey at Hoopers Bend in our novel. We are learning to use descriptive language to describe items. In maths we will be using fun activities to find out about chance. Welcome to Week 5! In Science this week 3W are continuing on with their study of the solar system. We will begin a research project focusing on the Murray-Darling basin in Geography and will continue reading the 13 Story Treehouse in English lessons. In Maths this week we will be focusing on Fractions and Decimals and Mass. Have a great week

Stage 3 AP- Miss Wilson Welcome to Week 5! Remember to keep the 21st Novemeber free for the Year 6 Graduation Dinner. Tickets are $25 for guests and are available at the front office. Intensive Swimming will commence for Primary Students in Week 9, please send in permission notes if you would like your child to participate. Grandparents Day is this Thursday, we welcome all grandparents and family members to attend our open classrooms and check out some of the great work occurring in Stage 3. Enjoy your Mid- term Break!

3B- Miss Buckley Welcome to Week 5! This week 3B will be completing our persuasive text writing on ‘Why they should be allowed to bring a dinosaur to school’. In Mathematics we will be creating ‘Symmetry bugs’ to help us remember where to put our lines of symmetry. In Science, we have created the solar system in paper mache form. Make sure to come and visit to have a look. Have a great week!

Stage 2 AP- Miss Griffiths Week Five is proving to be a very exciting week. We have Grandparents day coming up. There is also our Remembrance Day school service as well. This week students will be working on their art items to display on presentation night. We are all enjoying swimming on Fridays and the students skills are improving every week. I hope everyone enjoys their Mid-term break.

2B- Mr Dewberry Welcome to Week 5! Half way through the term. In English, 2B are continuing to look at the book Family Forest and are writing our own Character Profiles of a family member and best friend along with making a class forest with a positive sentence about each friend. In Maths, we are focusing on Chance & Data including flipping a coin and observing objects and things in our class. Don’t forget to bring a hat to school to be able to play. This Friday is Mid-term break so no swimming.

2G- Miss Griffiths This week 2G are looking forward

President – Lisa Rankmore The P&C held their annual Halloween Disco last week. It was a great turn out, it was fantastic to see Louth and other Bourke Schools attend. Everyone looked terrific in their costumes! I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that helped out by either cooking cupcakes, helping setup or packup or cook the sausages. A BIG shout out to Alister Hull for doing the music! The P&C would like to congratulate Miss Dorrington for receiving her 20 Years Service Certificate. Next P&C meeting Tueasday 14th November starting at 6pm in the BPS meeting room.

Welcome to week 5 in the EYTC. Students are excited for their graduation, which is occurring on Tuesday 28th November for the Dingoes and Wednesday 29th December for the Wombats. The graduation will commence at 2pm in the school hall. Finally, just a reminder that the final day of school for our Dingoes is Tuesday, 5th December and the Wombats last day of school is Thursday, 7th December.

3-6L- Miss Wade Wow! Week 5 already! Last week 3-6L enjoyed creating patterns in Maths, this week we will be developing our skills in mass. In English we are continuing to write our information reports on Wombats. In Sceince we will be investigating how the Earth and Suns rotations cause night and day. Don’t forget this Friday is Mid-term break, so no school on Friday or Monday. Have a nice relaxing long week returning in week 6 ready to learn!

Miss Bartley & Mrs Roe Congratulations to Lance Gordon and Dakota Edwards who were selected by their teachers for Miss Bartley’s Star Award. Both students have produced some fantastic writing and have strived to achieve their individual writing goals. These students have their work displayed in Miss Bartley’s office, have been awarded their certificate at assembly and personally picked a prize. Well done!! Please watch this space every fortnight to hear about other students who have been added to Miss Bartley’s Star board for their hard work and effort.

Support AP- Miss Nixon All K-6 students have received a note about the Intensive Swimming Scheme that Bourke Public School will be running in weeks 7, 8 and 9 of this term. Infants will be attending in weeks 7 and 8 and Primary students will be going in week 9. Please return your child’s note and money ASAP to secure their position in the scheme, as there will be limited positions available. If you would like your child to participate and do not have a note, please contact the Front Office or myself.

K-3W - Mrs Wood Welcome to Week 5! Last week K-3W had a wonderful and busy week. We received letters back from the sharks we had previously written to and loved reading about their under the sea adventures. This week is Mid-term break so there will be no school on Friday 10th or Monday 13th November. Have a lovely week and keep working super hard!

2-6N- Miss Nixon Week 5 already! Halfway through the term! Last week 2-6N enjoyed learning about Uluru and creating a matching artwork. This week we will be continuing to write Information Reports about animals. We will also be visiting the PCYC again on Monday afternoon to participate in gymnastics activities.
