Roy Lichtenstein in His Studio is a portfolio of vivid andengaging photographs by Laurie Lambrecht, who wasa studio assistant for about two years. She and theartist worked together daily, and the bond betweenthem is evident in the photographs. During this periodthey were gathering material for a major retrospectiveat the Guggenheim so the photographs includescrapbooks and sketchbooks and other archivalmaterial that document his entire career. At the sametime, the artist is shown working on his last majorseries, The Interiors.

Lichtenstein encouraged Lambrecht to make photo-graphs from time to time, and was often pleased andamused by the results. These images offer fascinatinginsight into Lichtenstein’s working processes andsource materials, as well as being vibrant works of art
