    Employees of the Indiana Departmentof Correction are entitled to manybenefits besides their pay. The

    Vacation Leave

    Up to 90 hours earned per year.

    Bonus vacation leave after 5, 10 and20 years of service.

    You may be eligible for benefits if you

    Tuition Reimbursement

    Up to 75% reimbursement for college

    courses (up to 6 credit hours asemester). Total reimbursement willnot exceed $2,200 per fiscal year.

    Pay For Performance

    An employee who meets standards ontheir annual Performance Appraisal will

    earn a raise.

    An employee who exceeds standards

    on their annualPerformance Appraisalwill earn a higher percentage raise than

    those employees who meet standards.

    Cash Spot Bonus

    Get caught going above andbeyond what is expected and youcould be rewarded with a Cash

    Spot Bonus from $100.00 to$1,000.00.

    You could be eligible for one ofthese awards as quickly as 6months after being hired.

    Who is ERO?

    Supplemental staff involved in emergencycontrol, search, apprehension andcontraband control within the Department.

    K-9 units are utilized along with outsideagencies for missing persons, searches ofschools and demonstrations throughout thestate.

    Emergency Squad:

    Specially trained staff prepared to act in anemergency under stressful circumstances

    and conditions. E-Squad helps controlsituations that begin suddenly and spread

    rapidly. They help regain order beforedamage to property and injury to staff and

    offenders can occur.

    Who is ERO?

    Special Emergency ResponseTeam:

    Specially trained andequipped personnel with theexpertise in entry tactics,precision weapons, hostagerescue, and high securitytransportation. These teamswere developed to help andassist other EmergencyControl Units.

    Situation Control:

    Specially trained teams based atfacilities to conduct negotiations

    during hostage situations or thosesituations requiring the use of

    negotiation skills.

    Critical Incident Stress Management:

    Staff who provide assistance toemployees involved in a critical incidentat work. CISM team members providestaff a forum for discussing repressed

    emotions resulting from theirinvolvement in a situation and provideeducation in these matters.

    Bonus

    Upon completion of the eligibilityrequirements, DOC Special Squadronemployees will receive the followingbonus:

    6 months service $500

    12 months service $500

    2 to 4 years service $1,000

    5+ years service $1,500
