12-Step Process
1. Assemble Supplies and safety equipment.2. Announce yourself (assume restroom is occupied)3. Post floor signs, barricades4. Toilets/urinals5. Dusting6. Step 1: Assemble Supplies and Safety Equipment
Put on gloves, safety goggles, and any other desired protective equipment
Assemble refills for paper towel, toilet paper, and soap dispensers
Prepare ready-to-use solutions of required cleaners using their correct dilutions

Step 2: Announce Yourself
Knock on restroom door to ensure it is not occupied before beginning

Step 3: Caution Signs
Set up caution signs or wet floor signs to block access to the restroom until the process is complete

Step 4: Toilets & Urinals
Evacuate toilet bowls Apply bowl cleaner to
interior and under rim of toilet bowls and urinals – don’t flush

Step 5: Dust
Dust the exterior of all dispensers, hand dryers, fixtures, counters, and baby-changing stations
Dust high light fixtures and other high surfaces

Step 6: Clean surfaces, dispensers, and fixtures
Spray glass cleaner on mirrors and any other glass surface and wipe clean with a dry cloth
Spray cleaner on sinks, counters, the exterior of dispensers and hand dryers, and baby-changing stations and wipe clean
If using a disinfectant, leave the surface visibly moist and allow to air dry
Clean partitions and walls as needed with all purpose cleaner

Step 7: Trash
Spray exterior of trash cans with disinfectant cleaner so the surface is visibly moist – allow to air dry
Empty trash Clean interior of trash can
as needed Put in new trash bag

Step 8: Sweep Floor
Use broom or dust mop to thoroughly sweep loose dirt
Focus on corners and other hard to reach places
Consolidate dirt and place in trash

Step 9: Restock & Refill
Restock toilet paper, paper towels, and any other dispensers as needed
Refill soap dispensers

Step 10: Toilets & Urinals
Return to toilets and urinals and clean exterior with disinfectant cleaner. Allow to air dry
Swab interior with a toilet bowl brush
Flush

Step 11: Mop Floor
Dilute cleaner into mop bucket
Start at far edge of the restroom and work towards the door
Allow floor to air dry
