The Methodist Ladies’ College Uniform Review Group is proud to unveil the College’s new uniform. These sophisticated garments will adorn our students as we move forward into the next phase of the evolution of our School.

The final pieces are the result of an exciting and consultative process of development and design.

The Uniform Review Group has assiduously referred back to what you told us through surveys, community consultation and representation of various support groups on the Uniform Review Group itself.

MLC’s new look combines the traditions of our College crest and Collegian Green, with touches of purple and white. While we honour these traditions we also look forward as a globally connected College for girls and young women. The purple-green-white combination is associated strongly with the advancement of women internationally.

Attention has been paid to every detail; the inverted pleats on the dresses, our summer tie, elegant trim on the blazer with its stand-out buttons and even the hair ribbon has been carefully selected to ensure our signature is individual to MLC.

The design of garments is flattering to growing girls and the fabric incorporates a unique stripe developed exclusively for MLC. The students will find the uniform stylish yet comfortable.

There are subtle shades of difference in the uniform from Early Years to Junior Years to Middle and Senior Years, which accommodate the different levels of activity at the various stages of schooling, while strongly recognising our Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 philosophy; one school - one journey.

In keeping with tradition established in the 1990s, and affirmed through our community consultations during the design phase, our Year 12s and College Prefects will be easily identified with their unique uniform features.

We hope you enjoy the results of our long journey to dress our girls for success.
