What is GUI ?

A graphical user interface (GUI) is a human-computer interface (i.e., a way for humans to interact with computers) that uses windows, icons and menus and which can be manipulated by a mouse (and often to a limited extent by a keyboard as well)

Advantages Of GUIs

A major advantage of GUIs is that they make computer operation more intuitive, and thus easier to learn and use.

Example:- it is much easier for a new user to move a file from one directory to another by dragging its icon with the mouse than by having to remember and type seemingly arcane commands to accomplish the same task.

Bills OF Material

In the world of product design and manufacturing, the bill of materials (BOM) is a critical product information record for both engineering and manufacturing teams. Managing BOM with the wrong tools can cause product quality issues, delays and compliance failures.

GUI-Bills Of Material

A Bills of materials (BOM) is a list of raw materials, sub assemblies, Intermediate assemblies,subcomponents,components,parts& the quantities of each needed to manufacture an end product.

No physical dimension is described in a BOM. The system uses BOM to specify how an end-

item is constructed from various components& it uses MRP calculations to specify the amount that is needed of each component for an end-item based on Production plan & BOM for the end-item.

Validate accuracy & currency of Supplier names & part numbers.

Evaluate product configurations across the enterprise to eliminate redundant parts & suppliers.

Identify obsolescence & counterfeit risks as early as possible to avoid production interruptions.
