In 2021 the Royal Australian Mint honours the dependable, determined and tolerant Ox with these lunar series coins. According to legend the Chinese Jade Emperor invited the Lunar animals to race, to determine

their position in the lunar zodiac. The Ox, being patient and powerful, was likely to win however, the clever Rat hitched a lift with the Ox, then jumped down to claim first place.

The humility and patience of the Ox is reflected in this lunar series. Each coin is meticulously crafted and will be a stunning gift for 2021.

The Seven Sisters

One of the brightest and most well-known star clusters is the Pleiades in the constellation Taurus. ‘In cultural traditions around the world and in Indigenous Australia, these stars are known as the Seven Sisters. In Yamaji traditions of Western

Australia’s Murchison region, these stars are called Nyarluwarri in the Wajarri language. The Yamaji people use this constellation to predict emu egg harvesting and to inform seasonal rainfall by observing how bright or faded the

star cluster is at certain times of the year - a practice shared by Indigenous Quechua people of South America.

The dynamic and beautiful artwork of Wajarri-Noongar artist Christine ‘Jugarnu’ Collard is now captured in the design of this stunning 2020 $1 Silver Uncirculated Coin. Order your coin today.

Emu in the Sky

Indigenous Australians are believed to be the first astronomers. For tens of thousands of years, the stars have acted as navigation maps, weather predictors, calendars, timekeepers and lent a backdrop to important storytelling.

The majesty and wonder of the Emu in the Sky constellation is captured in the art of Wiradjuri artist Scott Towney and replicated on this stunning 2020 $1 Coloured Uncirculated Coin.

This coin is gleaming with vivid images and will be a collector’s favourite. Order your coin today.

The Afghan Cameleers who travelled to Australia in 1859 made a significant contribution to the exploration of Australia’s inland, and to the development of Australia as a multicultural nation. The cameleers, who came from countries including

Afghanistan and Turkey, were indispensable for their exploration efforts and for carrying goods to inland communities.

To commemorate their work, the Royal Australian Mint presents these special 50c coins. Order these charming tributes today.

transformed colonies into thriving communities and old penal settlements into places of shining opportunity. As Australia’s population and cities grew rapidly with prospectors from around the world, the wealth generated

from gold launched a rush towards Federation.
