MoTI Response Actions

When requested by a PREOC, support local authorities to reopen critical routes such as access to hospital and airports Provide advice to assist the PECC in the procurement of

private sector transport assets Analyze and provide heavy haul routes for logistics

transport as required Coordinate exemptions from selected road rules and

regulations, if requested by the PECC (with particular regard to driver hours and vehicle weights) Provide the public with relevant transportation

information

MoTI Response Actions

Establish contact with and provide liaison to the PECC and the PREOC of the affected area Establish Transportation Branch within the PECC and

PREOC(s) Coordinate information and inform the PECC of the

status of key transportation infrastructure (all modes) and critical regional routes Conduct preliminary visual assessment of damage of

provincially-owned critical highway and bridge infrastructure Attend to the safety and protection of provincial

highways
