WHAT IS M2A?

M2A is a completely integrated Archival System (IAS). At MINISIS we have taken our unique approaches to Rapid Application Development (RAD) and project management to a new level. As one of the leading inter-national vendors for Relational Database Management Software (RDBMS), we have developed a wide range of products to fit many needs in the archives and bib-liographic community. As the champions of the notion of “Appropriate Technology”, we have a complete solu-tion which includes: an internationally proven database engine, a complete and multi-functional collections management application, an Internet interface, and a generic toolkit to enable clients to stay current and see their archival applications progress and grow with future demands and desires.

Making use of the MINISIS RDBMS engine, the M2A application has captured the attention of small, medium, and large archives throughout the world. M2A was offi-cially released based off the MINISIS ADD product and designed with subject matter experts from the archival community. M2A has sought to fit the needs of any archives infrastructure. Through its easy to use graphic interface designed for a Microsoft Windows environ-ment, M2A is an ideal tool to allow almost any user in need of a strong archival tool to: enter, import/export, and manage hierarchical descriptive data in an organized and easy to manipulate fashion. We en-courage integration with other systems through XML, SOAP, ODBC link capabilities, and MARC importing. Meanwhile, integration to our other products including pre-defined applications for libraries, mu-seums, and self serve OPACs makes MINISIS a total IAS solution.
