PURPOSE OF THE REPORT To give an overview of the purpose, vision, approaches

and Progress of Mindset upgrade ministry during this year. To create awareness especially to those who are yet to

understand the existence of the ministry to the young generation

To give a brief insight on the activities and events hosted on the ministry during the year

Observations/findings concerning the ministry and YKM at large

Strategies for growth of YKM To recommend as to what should be done to foster

growth and development of the ministry to the young generation

VISION OF MINDSET UPGRADE MINISTRY

“Reaching and transforming the lives of young people through the power of technology by the ever changing and powerful word of God.”

MINDSET UPGRADE MINISTRY [ Col 3:2 ,Rom 12:2]MOTTO; EMPOWERED TO TRANSFORM

Col 3:2 says “ SET YOUR MINDS TO THE THINGS ABOVE, NOT ON THE THINGS ON EARTH”

Rom 12:2 says “ And be not Conformed to this World; But be Transformed by the Renewing of Your Mind, That you may Prove What is Good and Acceptable and Perfect Will of God”

WHY MINDSET UPGRADE Mindset upgrade ministry exists to connect,

develop and saturate the mindset of young generation by the mindset of Christ for the benefit of the kingdom of God and making them live lives that display the splendor and greatness of God.

Why MU….

It is a very good thing to think and actually we can’t avoid that because we are created with that ability in us.

But, the main concern here is ‘What Are We Thinking Of?’and what affects our thinking?.

We are created in the image of God to worship Him with all that we are and have for His glory.

To glorify Him with all the abilities He has put in us and just one important of them that has put many away from God’s will and presence is our Thoughts.

Thinking is affected by what we take in[inputs] and as a result it affects our actions or in other words it impacts what we deliver [outputs]

UNDERSTANDING MINDSET UPGRADE

Mindset upgrade aims at transforming the mindset of youth to look like God by the word of God and for the glory of God.

To help youth think up, above and beyond normal thinking limits through the renewal of minds so that they are in alignment with God’s will for their lives.

Three things mentioned above that we should pay attention to as the sole purpose for the existence of this ministry.

Understanding MU…..

To connect- means to link the young generation to God by his word. Connection with God [through Jesus Christ] Connection with people [our fellow youth] To develop – means to make youths grow gradually and more

advanced each day through the word of God and To saturate – Saturation occurs when there is too much of something

that no more can be added to it and that is the level we want youths of this generation to

reach with the ever changing and powerful word of God. That it becomes to us a daily input or daily take in so

that it may transform our actions as well.

MINDSET UPGRADE EVENTS REPORT

With reference to the YKM calendar prepared, we thank God both Mindset upgrade events that were to be conducted took place successfully at Singida and Arusha.

Mu At Singida ‘Adding Value To Your Mind’This event took place on 15th March 2014 with Pastor Raphael J Lyela as the main speaker. The venue used was NEW LECTURE THEATER[NLT] and the theme topic was ADDING VALUE TO YOUR MIND.Over 50 members attended the event.

Mu At Arusha By God’s grace youth kingdom ministries was able to host another

mindset upgrade event the theme being ADDING VALUE TO YOUR MIND ON 23rd MAY 2014 at EAGT ELERAI CHURCH.

Over 100 members attended the event with 42 new members. Despite the financial challenges everything still went successful

as planned

Findings/observations

YKM has affected the lives of many youths in so many different ways. It has managed to touch the lives of many each in a unique way according to God’s plan for each.

From the short research I made from 48 different YKM members ambassadors and leaders on how YKM has changed their lives I got the following feedback that helped me and I believe will help you know what others have experienced in YKM.

TESTIMONIES ON MU

Out of the 48 people I was able to talk to I got some comments directly connected to Mindset upgrade ministry that show a true picture of how this ministry is helping youths change their thinking to be like God.

One of them says. ‘Kabla ya YKM nilikuaga niponipo tu. My mind ilikua imefungwa kwasababu nilikua nimejiwekea mipaka ambayo ilinifanya nione like mambo mengine mimi siwezi kuyafanya. Niliona kama kuna special people for special things.Kwakweli nilikua kama mtumwa. I didn’t know how to relate with people, I didn’t have friends like I do now. Kuna mitazamo flani ya kimaisha niliyokua nayo. Kuna mambo niliona they were so impossible for me kufanya mfano kufunga, kuhubiri. All in all ni kwamba nilijidharau ,sikuwa na mawazo ya kuwa a leader kabisa, I didn’t see myself leading people at all.YKM MESSAGES ZIMENIFUNGUA MY MIND SANA KWAKWELI YANI WITHOUT CHANGING OUR MINDSETS WE REMAIN SLAVES OF WRONG INFORMATION AND WRONG ATTITUDES.’ [ERIC YKML]

UPGRADING MINDS OF YOUTH

Another fellow said YKM has made him have a KINGDOM MINDED ATTITUDE which connects directly to the vision of MINDSET UPGRADE.

McLean says “It has helped me in the way I view things, reason and knowing my purpose in life.”

‘Nimekuwa nikiyatazama magumu yajayo mbele yangu kwa kuwa nimeshajua yupo Mungu nayaona mepesi na majibu yako mbele yakufanya nipate wepesi. [DOROTHY YKMM]’

‘From YKM I have been able to come to remember who I really am ‘the daughter of the most high God’ greatness, confidence, trust, sacrifice and obedience running in my blood, that is not to look down on myself and to give all I got for his glory. [ANNA TUPA YKMA]’

SPIRITUAL GROWTH

Other findings from the few people I talked to revealed the following.

12 youths out of 48 [25%] said they have experienced spiritual growth and have gotten closer to God. Some of their comments are as follows

“I can’t mention all but my faith in Christ is risen! Am stronger than ever before , my behavior has changed a lot”[FURAHA KAPAMA YKMM]”

“YKM has done a lot, It’s very hard to share all of it but all in all it has revived me, I mean spiritually also physically to be aware with some things and authority”[ATTUMISIGWA YKMM”]

‘YKM imenisaidia kuwa na tabia ya kuisoma biblia kila wakati tofauti na mwanzoni, kwa ujumla kiroho nimekua sio kama hapo awali.’[GLORY KHAHIMA]

FRIENDSHIP IN THE MINISTRY

Understand that your presence in the ministry means a lot to someone and most of all to God.

You’re a blessing and that is the truth no one can erase.14 people[29.17%] said they have been connected to great people of God and they have got great friends through YKM.

Some of the comments read as follows, “ I have met GREAT people of God and most especially serve God

together but amazing enough, these are not just people but people CONNECTED TO MY DESTINY”[ BY GRACE SOLOMON YKML]

‘Nimewafahamu watu wengi sana kupitia huduma hii ambao ni wa MUHIMU SANA maishani mwangu.’[REHEMA YKML]

I have met with GREAT AND POTENTIAL people of God whom in one way or another we have added value to each other.[BARAKA YKML]

SERVICE IN THE MINISTRY

So many youths are saved but do not know what to do after receiving their salvation. Others think its just praying and avoiding sin so that they may go to heaven forgetting THAT we ALL are called to do something. God doesn’t call you for nothing.

Out of the 48 people 16 people admitted that they see YKM as an opportunity to serve God and they are happily delivering that to other youths. Some of their comments where as follows

‘I have learnt ways of being a man of God, acting upon his will and serving him.’[BEHOST KYARA YKMM]

‘Well am just new comer but I have already learnt a lot through YKM, am happy because it helps me to know many things about salvation and how you can still stand as a Christian and how to serve my Lord in a clear way’[DOI ANTONTY YKMM]

‘YKM has given me an opportunity to serve God and to use my talents to deliver the same.’[BARAKA YKML]

‘To die empty maana yake kuachilia kila kitu ambacho Mungu kakiweka ndani yangu kwa ajili ya kizazi changu.’[DAVID SEDEKIA YKML]

LEADERSHIP

Its quite a testimony for many of us that YKM has really helped us understand how to be great leaders even if you may have not put it in your testimony but your actually living it and that is what matters most.

Some comments from YKM leaders are such as follows ‘ Kimsingi nimekuwa na ufahamu sahihi juu ya mambo kadha

wa kadha; Power of leadership through kingdom transformers[KT] ministry. Niliamua kuanza harakati za kuwania nyadhifa za uongozi chuo nikiwa mwaka wa kwanza kwa nafasi ya CR, baada ya miezi minne nikapiga hatua nyingine ya kuwania nafasi ya ubunge nikapita vizuri ndipo nilipofanikiwa kuteuliwa katika nafasi ya kuwa naibu waziri wa makazi na usafirishaji katika serikali ya wanafunzi Mipango 2013/2014. Kimsingi bado natamani sana kuendelea kujifunza mengi ndani ya huduma ya YKM, natamani sana kuona vijana wakifika pale ambapo Mungu anataka wawepo, naona namna ambavyo watu wamejitoa katika huduma, upendo, uwajibikaji, kijaliana. ‘YKM imenipa fursa nyingi sana nyingi sana siwezi kusema zote. Sikuwahi kuwa kiongozi wa taifa kwa mara ya kwanza nikawa kiogozi wa Taifa kupitia YKM..oooohhh wat a good ministry like this!!yani sina maneno ya kutosha kueleza nabubujikwa ndani yangu jinsi gani hii huduma inavyopeleka watu katika Nyanja tofauti tofauti za juu.Utukufu hadi utukufu [FORMER ND JECTA JORAM]’

Another said they have learned to be confident and committed in everything they do.

Upcoming events

According to YKM calendar for this year there will be two more events for Mindset Upgrade

Mwanza on 18th October and Dodoma on 26thOctober.

so lets keep it in our prayers.

The ministry is currently in search of 10 committed partners who will work together with the coordinator in preparing a financial plan and other plans for the ministry that will help the ministry be financially dependent and most of all grow effectively. So far I have got two leaders who are ready to do so.

Strategies to adopt

Most members in YKM ; are still not aware of the ministries in YKM at

full depth and some are aware of only one or two depending on the messages they have

received or events they have attended concerning a

certain ministry. There is somewhat an imbalance of

knowledge among members hence it should be shared to allow room for growth so I thought of the following strategies to help us grow in knowledge of what were doing.

SEVEN DAYS SEVEN MINISTRIES PLAN

Since we have seven ministries and seven days in a week, we could have a day for each ministry [ministry day] just like we

have communications day and fasting days.e.g. Monday- MU day Tuesday-KT day Wednesday- KI DayAIM To create consistence and awareness to members on each ministry by sharing information[knowledge], challenging each other with questions from the Word concerning

the ministry through discussions in whatsapp groups facebook, blogs and

messages, concerning each ministry on each ministry day. This will help to increase knowledge and awareness of each

ministry to youth since they all carry equal importance and each ministry has a unique and specific role to play towards youth

that shouldn’t be overlooked.

way forward

I love to see YKM as a seed that was planted[sown] in the hearts of many youths through Mr. Raphael and watered by the leaders who supported him into realizing this ongoing mission, but the only one who makes this seed grow is God himself [1st Cor 3:6-9] ].

This YKM seed has kept growing in each one of us at different heights, width according to the degree of engagement and readiness we show therefore each of us has a role to play in making the tree look more strong and beautiful by nourishing it in any way we can.

We need to love respect and care for one another since We are all the change makers to make this tree bear fruits that

will create more strong and beautiful trees in the future. Lets not allow to be cut off no matter how strong the winds blow

but lets keep praying to be ever green and strong and bear fruits through the word of God!

CONCLUSION

The ministry is growing day by day by God’s grace so we all need to be part of that growth by being fully

engaged in whatever is going on as our slogan says “PAMOJA KWA UMOJA”.

It should not matter who you are in YKM as long as your connected already just get to work.

Let it be a prayer for all of us to serve God fully through YKM.

Don’t allow to be a spectator but be a partaker and that’s the only way you can really witness Gods

blessings upon you! Anything concerning YKM concerns you directly

so lets always be present, available, connected, ready to act .
