    3.1 First articie. Unless otkerwise specified, the airman s individualsurvival kits furnished under this specification shall be a prcduct which fa+s beeninspected and bae passed the first article inspection specified in 4.3 threugb 4.3.2.3.2 Materials and compenente. The materiais and components simiiconform to applicable specfficatione, standards, aad drawings, as iisted or requir&d- - -herein. The precessfng piast, grounds, equipment, personzi practices, and sanitaryprocedures used in the production of tbe survival kits shall minimize the possibilityof contamination of the contztners and the component thrnugh microbial growth, dust,pests, rodents, condensate, or other unsanitary sources. When inspected as specified in 4.6.3, the seamadhesion of each outer or inner carrying bag shall be not less than 12 pounds.
