I asked if she was ok and they said “I think she is ok.” I asked where the accident was and then headed towards Danville expecting to pick Katelyn up and bring her home. I didn’t expect to find her in a car (in the trees) with blood covering her face and a broken leg and ankle. Other than the extreme pain from her leg, Katelyn (and those helping her) was calm. After a trip to Danville and some painful x- rays, Katelyn was flown to UK for repairs to her left femur, ankle, and hand/wrist. Thursday night was an eventful night of testing, scanning, wrapping, drilling, setting, traction, and you name it. Katelyn had surgery on Friday morning and is now in recovery mode. She can’t put any weight on her left leg for at least 6 weeks. With all that said, I have SO much to be thankful for. I am thankful that all 3 girls in the wreck are alive and on the mends. I am thankful for all the calls, texts, visits, messages, snacks, and concern that has been shown to my family. We are all pretty overwhelmed. I’m sure I haven’t re- turned all the calls and messages but I sure do appreciate them. On Friday afternoon after Katelyn returned to her room after surgery we had a few visitors and then there was just Katelyn, Jenny, Kyle and myself in the room. We turned the lights off and took a little nap while Katelyn was asleep. As I laid there on the couch with Kyle’s feet in my face I thought how blessed I was to have my family. I know so many who have lost a child or a sibling and I was just overcome with thanksgiving in my heart. If you have your family around you, friends who love and support you, and God who is full of grace and comfort you are truly blessed. Katelyn was released from the hospital on Tuesday and when we got home we found that some men had built a ramp built up to our front en- trance and some ladies had cleaned our house and garage. Then we had somebody bring supper by. It is so humbling to be treated with such kind- ness. Jenny and I celebrated 20 years of marriage last Wednesday and the first 20 years were pretty smooth sailing in regards to crisis and trag- edies. This incident has made us all even more appreciative of the grace of God and the blessings of wonderful friends and family. Thank you so much for your love and support for me and my family. You have truly shown us the love of Christ and we cannot adequately share our appreciation. Bro Harold JUNE 10, 2015

From Your Pastor

Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

As most of you know, I got a call last Thursday from somebody saying

that Katelyn was in an accident. I asked if she was ok and they said “I

think she is ok.” I asked where the accident was and then headed towards

Danville expecting to pick Katelyn up and bring her home. I didn’t expect

to find her in a car (in the trees) with blood covering her face and a broken

leg and ankle. Other than the extreme pain from her leg, Katelyn (and

those helping her) was calm. After a trip to Danville and some painful x-

rays, Katelyn was flown to UK for repairs to her left femur, ankle, and

hand/wrist. Thursday night was an eventful night of testing, scanning,

wrapping, drilling, setting, traction, and you name it. Katelyn had surgery

on Friday morning and is now in recovery mode. She can’t put any weight on

her left leg for at least 6 weeks.

With all that said, I have SO much to be thankful for. I am thankful

that all 3 girls in the wreck are alive and on the mends. I am thankful for

all the calls, texts, visits, messages, snacks, and concern that has been

shown to my family. We are all pretty overwhelmed. I’m sure I haven’t re-

turned all the calls and messages but I sure do appreciate them. On Friday

afternoon after Katelyn returned to her room after surgery we had a few

visitors and then there was just Katelyn, Jenny, Kyle and myself in the

room. We turned the lights off and took a little nap while Katelyn was

asleep. As I laid there on the couch with Kyle’s feet in my face I thought

how blessed I was to have my family. I know so many who have lost a child

or a sibling and I was just overcome with thanksgiving in my heart. If you

have your family around you, friends who love and support you, and God who

is full of grace and comfort you are truly blessed.

Katelyn was released from the hospital on Tuesday and when we got

home we found that some men had built a ramp built up to our front en-

trance and some ladies had cleaned our house and garage. Then we had

somebody bring supper by. It is so humbling to be treated with such kind-

ness. Jenny and I celebrated 20 years of marriage last Wednesday and

edies. This incident has made us all even more appreciative of the grace of

God and the blessings of wonderful friends and family. Thank you so much

for your love and support for me and my family. You have truly shown us

the love of Christ and we cannot adequately share our appreciation.

MAKING DISCIPLES…

Question 17: Did our first parents continue in glad obedience for which they were created?

Answer: No. Desiring to be like God, our first parents forsook the obedience of faith, ate of the forbidden tree, sinned against God, and fell from the innocence in which they were created.

Scripture: Genesis 3:1-7; Ecclesiastes 7:29; Romans 5:12

Question 18: What is sin?

Answer: Sin is transgression of the revealed will of God which teaches that we are to act in perfect holiness from a heart of faith to the glory of God.

Scripture: 1 John 3:4; Romans 5:13; 14:23; 1 Peter 1:16; Matt. 5:48; 1 Corin. 10:31.

Comment: Simplified, sin is any attitude or desire or action that explicitly breaks a commandment of Scripture, or comes from a heart of unbelief or is not done for the glory of God.

Information taken from: A Baptist Catechism, Desiring God Ministries. To “catechize” means to teach Biblical truth in an orderly way.
