Starting a ProgramStarting a Program By default, the dock is a glossy ribbon

open and located at the bottom of the computer screen contains icons, but can be moved or hidden

Icons: small images that represent programs, folders, files and the trash

The purpose of the dock is to give you a quick and easy access to the most frequently used items on your computer

vertical dashed line― programs appear of the left side of the dashed line― folders, files and the Trash appear on the right

To open a program, simply click the program’s icon the on the dock― once a program is opened the view of the program

window can be adjusted using the scroll bars located on the right side or bottom of the window

Starting a Program Not Found on Starting a Program Not Found on the Dockthe Dock

To start a program that is loaded on the computer but not on the dock, click the Finder icon on the dock to open the Finder window

Click the Applications in the Sidebar (the left side of the Finder window), locate the desired program to use on the right side of the Finder window, then double-click the program to open it

To save time in the future, drag the program icon from the Finder window to the desired location on the dock

When multitasking, moving and resizing windows becomes necessary so that more of one window or two or more windows can be viewed at the same time― use the window control button to Minimize (or by

double clicking its title bar) and Zoom in the upper left corner of the window
