MAKE SPACE FOR WONDER THIS CHRISTMAS  

Vatican City, Dec 19, 2018 - Make space for wonder and surprise this Christmas, Pope Francis urged, explaining that the first Christmas had many surprises – including that God came into the world as a tiny baby. The Blessed Virgin Mary was surprised by the Angel Gabriel at the Annunciation and Joseph was surprised by the angel in his dream, which told him to take Mary as his wife, the pope said Dec. 19. To welcome the Savior there are no powerful people, no ambassadors, just simple shepherds, surprised by the angels while working at night.

“But it is on the night of Christmas that the biggest surprise comes: The Most High is a small child,” he said. “To celebrate Christmas, then, is to welcome the surprises of Heaven on earth.” Read more HERE!

Our 7th and 8th grade Leo Club members just completed 778 hours of service to in our school, parish, and community this fall!

1ST ANNUAL CATHOLIC SCHOOLS GOT TALENT  We are excited about the 1st Annual Catholic Schools Got Talent on February 2! There is so much talent at SLCS. We are very proud of all our Saints that auditioned. Congratulations to our finalists Ashlee Allen and Gabbi and Nico Arenas! What a great way to represent your school and our Archdiocesan Catholic Schools. Stay tuned! Tickets go on sale January 2 and will sell out quickly. FAMILY RETREAT PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING ON JANUARY 8TH! 

We are very excited to bring back the SLCS Family Retreat at Forest Glen Camp near Huntsville. Join other SLCS families the weekend of March 20th for a spirit-filled fun weekend centered around prayer and quality time together. Anyone who has been in the past can tell you how much they have enjoyed bonding with other families who share in the goal of pointing their children to Christ.

Making this retreat a success is a group effort; therefore, we need help in organizing and planning activities. If you are interested in serving on a committee or being involved in the planning process, please join us on January 8th at 4:30 p.m. in the school. To be a part of this special weekend, we ask that you fill out your contact information HERE!
