I moved to the Chemistry Department at Cambridge in 1997, to work on a oneyear contract as a postdoc in Professor Sir David King's surface science group. After a couple of shortterm contract extensions, I gained a Royal Society University Research Fellowship in 2001, and was appointed to a University Lectureship in Physical Chemistry in 2009. I now lead the surface science group, directing research in both computational and experimental aspects of the field. My Research Interests My group conducts computational and experimental research in surface science, with particular focus upon: chiral adsorbates and surfaces; hydrogen and halogenbonded adsorbate networks; surface restructuring at atomic and nanoscopic lengthscales; and surface chemistry relevant to largescale and massively distributed heterogeneous catalysis (e.g. ammonia synthesis, automotive catalysis, etc). Mentoring Support I Can Provide Topics included in my research interests section Career development and progression: routes to academic careers Advice on Royal Society University Research Fellowships, etc. Provide motivation, confidence and inspiration Mentoring Availability and Contact Please contact me directly: [email protected]
