TOTAL SCHOLARSHIP DOLLARS AWARDED FOR THE 2013-2014 SCHOOL YEAR: $1,303,948

Central Catholic High School, a college preparatory catholic school for boys, is guided by the educational principles of Saint John Baptist de La Salle. The school strives to provide a challenging, relevant, and diverse program of academics and extracurricular activities in an environment that fosters a life of faith and learning and develops leaders rooted in the Gospel values of integrity, respect, service, justice and peace. Upon graduation, the graduates of Central Catholic will have become Men of Faith, Scholarship, and Service.

We gratefully acknowledge those listed in this report, whose loyalty inspires us to educate young men in the Lasallian tradition regardless of social or financial standing. The voluntary contributions of generous Central Catholic alumni, friends, parents, foundations, and organizations enables the school to provide the unique experience of an education that goes beyond academic excellence.

Since 1927, Central Catholic has been developing leaders in the city of Pittsburgh. With more than 20,000 alumni, Central has a strong tradition of excellence that includes the finest academics, a spiritual community, and an energetic campus in Oakland, the educational heart of the city.

Much like the first class, Central Catholics student body today reflects the rich ethnic, cultural, economic, and racial diversity of the Pittsburgh area. The school has a solid enrollment and is currently at capacity with 870 young men.

Todays students maintain Centrals tradition of academic excellence. The Class of 2014s SAT scores were above the national average in all three subject areas. The class also achieved a 100% college acceptance rate and was offered more than $20 million in scholarships and grants.

Donors in this report made their gifts to the school between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014. Contributions made after June 30, 2014 will appear in the 2014-2015 Annual Report scheduled for publication in August 2015. Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of this list. We sincerely apologize for any errors or omissions. A correction can be reported to Executive Director for Institutional Advancement, Patricia Joan Maurer at 412-208-3401 or [email protected].

  • The Lasallian spirit of giving in the 2013-2014 fiscal year provided tuition assistance, technology advancements, and funds for capital projects. In addition, the Alumni Scholarship Endowment Funds continue to impact Central Catholics ability to assist those who need help with the expense of tuition.

Your loyal support helps Central Catholic honor Saint John Baptist de La Salles founding principle, Education for All. Because of your generosity, Central Catholic is able to prepare young men to lead their communities and contribute to the creation of a more just and compassionate world.
