appointment to speak to your child’s teacher, please give Tanya or Marion in the office a call and they will pass

on a message or ask the teacher or teaching assistant to call or email you back.

• If you need further advice about something or you have a concern or comment that the class teams are

unable to help with, we would encourage you to speak to the Phase Leaders or Assistant Heads who are

always happy to help!

The Importance of Reading

Reading Agreement

• Children should aim to read for 20-25 minutes every day

• Children or the adults that read with them, need to record in their records every time they read

• Every week morning, it is the child’s responsibility to put their reading record in the classroom box

• If the reading agreement is not met, we will be contacting parents/carers.

Attendance and Lateness

• School starts at 8:55am

• Please ensure that your children arrive in plenty of time for the start of the

school day

• Good attendance is extremely important – missed school is missed learning

and can affect your child’s progress

Trips and Special Days

• Parents/carers will need to give permission for their children to attend each trip via ParentPay

• An automatic contribution of ₤1 will be required

• Trips which are free will not require you to give permission on ParentPay (M25 permissions letter)

• Letters for trips will suggest a recommended donation based upon the cost to the school

• Some trips can be very expensive for the school and so we will ask for a contribution to help make these fantastic trips possible!

Volunteering

• Would you be able to spare some time to volunteer on a regular

basis?

• Parent volunteers are vital for school trips – visits won’t be able to

go ahead without out!

• Special days e.g. trips, topic day

E-Safety

• Here at Whitehall Park we take Online Safety extremely seriously. From fully managed internet access with strict web filtering to making online safety a natural part of any lesson involving the use of the internet we take as many steps as possible to ensure that children are kept safe.

• We also know that there are many different ways that children can access the internet and so we prepare the children for the dangers that may be out there and provide them with strategies for dealing with unwanted communications and being aware of how other people may interact with them. Please take a look at the links below for more information on keeping our children safe online.
