Who are the sorts of companies that would publish and distribute your

music magazine? The types of companies that would publish and distribute the

type of multi genre magazine such as ‘Embrace’ would/ could be Q magazine, Mojo and Billboard just to name a few. Hence why I had based my magazine forms and conventions on these globally successful recognized magazines in which are similar to mine. All three of the magazines stated above, have large ambitious target audiences almost all of which they manage to cater for within the contents of their magazine’s. In addition these companies

Exemplar Magazine Institutions

The types of magazine institutions which would represent and publish and distribute magazine’s such as mine would be both Mojo and Q magazine, Q magazine produces both magazines and films. However Mojo manufactures and sells magazines, music, clothing and other consumer good such as clocks and coasters (does not produce films).Below I have also included the most successfully ranked magazine institutions in order of 1 – 5.

Audience? Large audience target audience, or more niche? In reference to my magazines target audience I have a sole aim of it targeting a multi genre catering a large variety of musical fans, therefore it being a large target audience. An example of a well known niche magazine with a smaller target audience which has yet still been successful and a large annual capital – profit amount is Kerrang liked globally by people who admire or follow the rock genre of many ages.

Frontline Distribution In terms of a specific relevant magazine distributor throughout my previous research task in which I looked into the various distributors and institutions in which provide a service selling and advertising a range of successful magazines, both large globally known with large capital and smaller more niche.

As shown to the right of this text Frontline Distribution is both successful of doing the above selling large and small magazines of numerous audiences and genres (shown relevantly with the circled area in the image displayed). Particular it states that ‘we trade with the biggest multiple retailers through to specialist newsagents and small independent shops’.

Process of Distribution In relation to the process of distribution Frontline has as shown to the left of this text a 4 step process. Firstly to develop a retail relationship which is to be maintained throughout, including marketing and promotional calendars improving and adapting the strategical approaches to suit each magazine.

Secondly to ensure business information and analytics in other words the sale trends, and category performance are all taken a close magnified eye on to then make informed correct decisions allowing the business to both adapt and improve based on the market conditions.

Third in the process is to supply and ‘chain manage’ the design and physical movement of the magazines printing from publication to the particular retail stores an obvious important stage otherwise magazines wouldn’t be sold. And lastly more a conclusion/ maintained stage is the category management ‘insight analysing’ for current and future trends on the informative process of production, distributing and selling. An important area that in their process – approach selling experience help to shape future approaches and selling tactic.

Conclusion Slide/ My magazine

In reference to my analysis and information portrayed in this PowerPoint not only has my discussion on the process and various distributors – institutions informed me of the approaches and strategy's but also the ‘after care and extra’s’. For example back tracking to my previous analysis assignments where I had identified ‘Mojo’ magazine as evidently similar to my own magazine in particular on the basis of ‘image selection, house style, target audience’s, genre similarity.
