ROAR! Makeup Advert Before I created this

advert I did research into other adverts and the conventions they typically use. My video has some of these conventions thought allowing me to make it look more professional and realistic to the audience. I decided on doing a makeup advert and the conventions I used where off a already existing makeup advert I found by Barry m

The convections I used was cutting from image to image using multiple shots using colour thought it all and focusing on all the different products available in the range . The main convention I used was using a popular song that everyone knows to go over my advert this draws in the audience and allows them to easily remember it. The conventions I didn't use was the

Web Popup

I used the convention that most makeup web pop up advertisements use y creating a image that showed off all the products and had the slogan and brand name and make positioned so it is clear to read, the main convention I did not use due to it not working out in editing is the image of the product in its packaging in the corner the reason this is done is so the audience knows what packaging to look for when buying the product.

Radio Ad

I used the convention of using the music to over lay the advert so it sticks in the listeners head. By doing this I also had t figure out a way in which I could have the voice over still be heard clearly, I decided on having the bit under the voice over to just be a instrumental and the end piece to have the lyrics most radio adverts do this as to not over shadow the voice over.

Before I created my own television advert I did plenty of research into other adverts and the conventions they typically use. My video has some of these conventions thought allowing me to make it look more professional and realistic, for example my first advert is for a album and it has the same conventions as the kings of Leon boxed TV advert .

At first my video conforms to the convention of having the artist or artists in the video because in the opening part of the video the band are the only ones on screen. Also it like many other album adverts shows clips from different music videos or making the band or singer be in different locations, I also did this by adding different scenes and cutting the clips and putting them all together so they fit and created smooth transitions from each location. Another convention my advert conforms to is using lip synching this is commonly used in album adverts.

Another common convention used thought album adverts is that they show all the tracks on the album so that the audience can view it and know what to expect this is a convention I did not use as I found it to hard to get the songs to overlay without sacrificing the sound quality and the advert not looking professional enough the songs recorded just did not blend well together due to the chord progression. In conclusion my television advert mainly stuck to the conventions of previous adverts I had viewed and analysed.

Web Popup

A common convention used I used the convention that most album web pop up advertisements use which is creating a image that showed off what the album and the band are all about by adding a photo that relates to the album name this is a example of this shown below. I made sure I had the slogan , make and brand name positioned so it is clear to read. I even made sure that the colour scheme had a link with the band name by relating it to playing cards.

I used the convention of using the bands music to over lay the advert so it sticks in the listeners head causing them to want to buy it. By doing this I also had to figure out a way in which I could have the voice over still be heard clearly, I decided on having the bit under the voice over to be at a lower volume so that the voice over is not out shone by the music.
