COURSE DESCRIPTION

This premier three-day course highlights interventional cardiology topics and information with practical application in studying for board certification in interventional cardiology.

This course covers basic aspects of interventional cardiology, including catheterization laboratory equipment, radiation physics and safety, pharmacology and procedural planning and performance. Specific patient lesion and procedural characteristics are highlighted, including a review of challenging cases.

Lectures are followed by multiple choice test questions utilizing an audience response system.

COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:• Formulate invasive treatment plans

based on patient characteristics• Assess patient risk for interventional

procedures• Diagnose and manage common

procedural complications• Identify state-of-the-art concepts in

interventional cardiology

INTENDED AUDIENCE

This premier course is primarily intended for cardiologists and cardiovascular fellows preparing for the ABIM Interventional Cardiology (re)certification exam. This course also provides a focused state-of-the-art review of interventional cardiology topics for all cardiovascular practitioners and trainees.

CREDIT

College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic, is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic, designates this live activity for a maximum of 24.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

A certificate of attendance will be provided to other health care professionals for requesting credits in accordance with state nursing boards, specialty societies, or other professional associations.

DATE AND LOCATION

The 9th Annual Mayo Interventional Cardiology Board Review course will be held October 12-14, 2012. Course headquarters will be located in Leighton Auditorium on the second floor of the Siebens Medical Education Building, Mayo Clinic, 100 Second Avenue Southwest, Rochester, Minnesota. Meeting facilities are easily accessible by skyway and pedestrian subway, which connect Mayo Clinic to shops, restaurants, and hotels.

The registration fee includes tuition, comprehensive electronic course syllabus, continental breakfasts, break refreshments, and welcome reception. COURSE SYLLABUS

The course syllabus will be provided on a flash drive and distributed to attendees at the course. A printed copy of the syllabus will be available for an additional $100. Outlets will be available in the room and you are encouraged to bring your laptop to access the electronic syllabus during the lectures.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you cancel your participation in this course, your registration fee, less a $75 administrative fee, will be refunded when written notification is received by Mayo School before Friday, September 28, 2012, ([email protected] or fax#: 507-266-7403). No refunds will be made on or after Friday, September 28, 2012. Canceled registrations are non-transferable.

Mayo School of Continuous Professional Development reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course due to unforeseen circumstances.
