• The Mayan civilization started in 300 to 900 A.D.
• What made the Mayan different from other cultures was the importance of religion and literate culture.
One of the Mayan buildings were pyramids.Pyramids were made of limestone and were
very hard to climb.
• The Mayans worshiped everything even nature.
• They tried to explain how the gods worked and how and why they gave the Mayans what they needed .

• 750,000 Mayan people speak the Mayan language.
• A database contains more than 40,000 words for 31 Mayan languages.
• The Mayan were the only civilization who understood the concept of zero or nothing.
• The Mayan would write up to nineteen with just shells, dots and lines.
• Along with other Mayan accomplishments they created the calendar.
• The Mayan calendar was adopted by the other Mesoamerican nations.
