Fellowship Hall

I want to thank you for your prayers and concern

during my recent hospital stay. My procedures were

successful and I am back on track where I need to be.

However, I will need to make some decisions and changes in

the days ahead. I covet your prayers during this time.

Thank you, Eldon Eckard, for your messages last

Sunday morning. I listened to our service over the internet

and was blessed by the music and the message. God always

speaks to those who will listen.

We will celebrate Mother’s Day this Sunday morning

and I hope the Mom’s of our congregation will take advantage

of the Mother’s Day Breakfast being served from 9:30 to 10

AM in the Fellowship Hall. Ladies, come and let the men

provide you breakfast.

Wouldn’t it be great to gather in worship this Sunday

morning in a full house at 8:30 and 11:00 AM? We would

gather not because of a special event, guest, or offering. We

would gather because it is the Lord’s Day and we want to

honor Him. Wouldn’t it be great if we all came with only one

thing on our mind, hearing from God and worshiping Him?

Church is not a political forum, it is not a business, it is not a

AWANAS WOW US AGAIN A special thanks to Stacey Sweitzer and her awesome team of

AWANA leaders. Last Sunday’s AWANA Awards Celebra-

tion was great. We were all encouraged to see how effective

the AWANA ministry is in reaching children for Christ and

for training them in their Christian walk. And, the kids and

leaders are having a great time as they do it. Thanks to each

student and leader for a job well done!

CHILDREN’S CHOIR PROGRAM NOTE Our Children’s Choirs will share a presentation of music on

Wednesday, May 14. The choirs will sing and share their mu-

sic at 7:00 PM that evening. Support our children with your

presence and your encouragement that evening. The final

Wednesday Choirs date for this spring will be May 14.

FELLOWSHIP CLUB Last Monday’s Fellowship Club was a record breaker. We had

a huge group of folks show up for a great meal on the Flint.

Thanks to Lewis Jones for a great job in cooking all those

hamburgers. They were delicious. The water wasn’t too safe

for the ride on the river, so we plan to reschedule the boat ride

for another day in the summer. Please feel free to call me with

any suggestions you might have for Fellowship Club programs

in the future.

SAINTS ALIVE Each of you should have received a copy of our 2 month

schedule of ministry opportunities. We have some great times

ahead!

Calendar Note: First Baptist Church will cancel its services on

the evening of Sunday, June 29. The Saints Alive Choir has

been invited to share music for 3 churches who will meet at

Eldoreno Baptist Church for a 5th Sunday Night Sing!
