What is Energy? Energy is the capacity to do some type of

work.

Energy is used when there is any change in matter.

What are endothermic and exothermic processes?

Endothermic- process in which heat is absorbed.

Exothermic- process in which heat is released.

The Law That States That Energy Cannot Be Created or Destroyed but can be changed from one form to another.

What are heat, temperature, and specific heat?

Heat- the energy transferred between objects.

Temperature- actual measurement of energy (heat), or how hot or cold something is.

Specific heat- the relationship between the energy transferred to a substance and the substance’s temperature change.

What are temperature scales?

Thermometers are used to measure temperature.

Thermometers are marked with different temperature scales.

3 basic types: Kelvin, Celsius, Fahrenheit
