Tug is the second of two 8,000HP sister tugs built by Nichols Brothers of Freeland, Washington. First tug delivered and successfully trading in the U.S. Gulf. Second tug sea trials completed, vessel accepted and delivered by shipyard to owner. Second barge was cancelled and tug is surplus to Owner’s present requirements. EMD main engines are LNG duel fuel convertible. Can be modified with two fuel blending kits options. One option is Dynamic Gas Blending, which allows the engine to operate on 100% diesel fuel, or up to approx. 75% gas substitution. Second option, Direct Injected Gas, allows the engine to operate on 100% diesel fuel, or up to approx. 95% gas substitution. Any such modification is subject to Class endorsement”.
