Dear Members of the Manzano Day School Community,

With the start of the 78th school year at Manzano Day School, it is always pleasant to look at the previous year and reflect on why I am so proud to be the Head of this exceptional school. We are a community of tremendous professionals who partner with parents who entrust us with what is most precious to them, their children. This partnership has, once again, allowed our school to succeed and flourish.

The successes of Manzano Day School need to be shared with all who support us in so many ways. The purpose of the Gratitude Report is to publicly thank all of those who contributed to our fundraising efforts last year. The Manzano Day School community was extremely generous in their financial support. Both the Gala and the Golf Tournament raised record funds in support of endowing our Wings scholarships. In addition 92% of current families participated in the past year’s Annual Fund, as well as 100% of our employees and 100% of the Board of Trustees.

No one debates the necessity of a strong educational foundation. This framework undoubtedly gives children the best chance in life to succeed. The opportunities offered at Manzano Day School are acclaimed locally, regionally, and nationally. The continued implementation of 21st century learning skills which include critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, and compassion have augmented and improved a very successful program.

So many people work to make our school outstanding. MDSPA, and its members, are dedicated to our success. The Board of Trustees has continued to thoughtfully plan for both the present and future, while embracing our past. I have previously mentioned our professional staff, but reiterating the excellent job they do is important.

Many thanks go to each and every person who helps to ensure not only the current successes of the school, but also to those who are invested in our future. Please know how much I appreciate and thank so many for so much!

Cash GiftsCash is one of the most popu-lar and easiest ways to make a charitable contribution. A cash contribution to Manzano Day School can be in the form of cash, check, money order or cashiers check. We also accept Visa, American Express, Mastercard and Discover credit cards.

Endowment Gifts Manzano Day School’s endow-ment ensures the long-term sta-bility and security of our school. Tuition and Annual Fund dollars help support operational expenses, facilities upkeep, and existing programs. Endowment funds can be used to enhance and develop our educational programs as well as to recruit and retain outstanding faculty, in addition to other unforeseen needs of the school.

Planned or Deferred GiftsCreate a legacy, and make a last-ing contribution to future gen-erations, by including Manzano Day School in your estate plans through a planned or deferred gift. One of the simplest ways to support Manzano Day School’s future is through a bequest donation in your will. Deferred gifts may bring donors several benefits, including income for life or for a term of years, income for a second beneficiary, and reduc-tions in income, capital gains, gift, or estate taxes. These gifts take many forms, including an-nuities, remainder trusts, and life insurance.

SecuritiesGifts of stocks can offer spe-cial charitable opportunities for donors, and Manzano Day School accepts donations of securities at any dollar value. 2015 Gala

Thank you for helping a child take Wing! Proceeds from the Gala benefitted the school’s Wings endowment. Established in 1988, the Wings program provides full scholarships and related support to academically promising students from families with severely limited financial resources. The Wings children have an opportunity to have their entire life direction and prospects changed with educational vistas opened to them beyond their dreams. I am forever grateful to Manzano Day School for setting my children on a path of educational and

social success. Thanks to the Wings Program, Manzano Day School became our village.

Without the Wings Program, I would have never been able to provide for them the education
