Transcript of My Favorite Part of the Day Gratitude Challenge
My Story: Reliving My Favorite Part of the Day
• My husband volunteered overseas for 5 months.
• I stayed home, and I missed him.
• Yet only calling once a week, I’d waste that time complaining about my day.
My Story: Reliving My Favorite Part of the Day
• One day he asked me to tell him something good that happened.
• No surprise, it felt better than complaining.
Finding this chalk art was something good that happened
My Story: Reliving My Favorite Part of the Day
• I decided that everyday, I’d cut a slip of paper & write down my favorite part of the day.
• And I stuffed the slips in an empty tin, like it was a piggy bank.
• I did this everyday for 5 whole months!
My Story: Reliving My Favorite Part of the Day
• When my husband got home we opened the tin (A.K.A – the piggy bank of memories).
• Every slip of paper was a positive memory.
What did I learn?
• Thinking about my favorite part of the day gave me a reason to find the good in the day.
• Even if it was a crappy day...– I ripped my tights, spilled coffee on desk, missed a
meeting.
• ... there was still something that was my favorite part.
What did I get out of it?
• The gratitude activity made me happier because I stopped overlooking the everyday good things that happen.
• And after 5 months, it was fun to remember & re-live the things that impressed me...
... and to share them with my husband.
“Gratitude begins by looking within and appreciating the value of one’s
experiences.”

Next slide starts the challenge!
• For a set timeframe:• Note your favorite part of every day
• Write them on a slip of paper and keep ‘em safe
• No peeking!
• Once the time’s up:• Read & re-live the best moments of your life
• Seriously, for that timeframe they are your best moments
Challenge Objectives
• Use colored slips of paper. Or decorate them.– Maybe your favorite part of the day will be making
the pretty slips of paper.
• Done the challenge? Make gratitude art.– Get crafty and paste your slips into a pattern. Your
imagination can be the limit.
Are you brave enough to make it a marathon gratitude challenge and do it for, lets say, 5
months?
