An explanation of the differences in ducting and how they affect your applications

Flow Characteristics

RFH, UFD and CVD have a much closer pitch than competitive products which results in a hose with better ow

characteristics. The wider the pitch (distance between the wire) the more wall material bends into the center of

the hose. In other words, the I.D. at the hose bends is reduced much more with a wider pitched hose.

Hi-Tech Hose products have much better air ow characteristics because of our closer pitch construction.

Wall Thickness

In most cases Hi-Tech Hose products are made with a thicker wall to give the end user better performance and

longer life. RFH and CVD are as much as 33% thicker than competitive products. UFD is 16% thicker than

competitive products.

I.D. and Lengths

Hi-Tech Hose products are made slightly oversized to aid the end user

during installation. Many competitors produce hose to exact

diameters, which can make installation a nightmare.

Many Hi-Tech Hose products are available up to 100 foot lengths.

Longer lengths can eliminate the need for coupling, as well as, reduce

the amount of scrap when cutting from stock lengths.

Hi-Tech Hose recognizes that hose boxed for shipment can come out

shorter than it went in the box. To help make the use of ducting a

more pleasurable experience, Hi-Tech Hose ships 52 foot lengths when

a customer orders 50 feet or 26 feet when a customer orders 25 feet.

Most of our competitors ship 25 feet which results in the delivery of a length of hose which is virtually impossible

to stretch to 25 feet.
