Mamk as an organisation
• Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences Ltd (Mamk) is a subsidiary
of South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences Ltd.
(Xamk)
• Mamk began operating in 1992 when several regional colleges
where united
• Mamk converted to a limited liability company in 2009
• Annual turnover is approximately €45 million;
– 2/3 of the turnover is based on government funds,
– 1/3 is through research and development and services
• The president and CEO is Heikki Saastamoinen

• In January 2015 is starting a renewed programme of Tourism and
service business
• Double degree programme (students from StPetersburg, Moscow,
Jekaterinburg)
• Exchange students (to Finland 29/26 from Finland) about ten
different countries e.g. Germany, Russia, Italy, Holland, Ireland,
China, France, Poland
• Number of international degree students 46 (10% of students)
• 85 % of students are employed immediately after graduation

fish hauls by exploiting the RFID-technology (MMM)

• Utilizing it-techology in customer interface in food services (case:
home deliverd meals for elderly) (Maakuntaliitto, Ely)
