VILLA PROJECT IN DUBAI

is is a concept for a 800 sqm villa design for a private client in Dubai. On the ground oor there is a kitchen, a living room, a garage and a guest room with bathroom. On the rst oor there are three bedrooms plus one master bedroom and a laun-dry room. Each bedroom has a ne bathroom and a wardrobe. Architecture was designed in modern style, with a great balance between func-tion and form. I made sure that interiors have enough light, but I also created a lot of sheds to pro-tect the house from overheating and make it more economical. Communication areas are brought down to a minimum making movement between spaces very easy and uent. In the area there is also a service block and a swimming pool. 2D con-cept was created in Autodesk Autocad. 3D shape, plans, elevations and sections were made in Revit.

FIT OUT - MASSAGE SALON IN HOTEL

EXHISTING APPROVED

MY REVISION

Majority of the projects that I’ve been working on for the past few months were t out projects for villas, oces, factories, hotels etc. Projects include convert-ing villas to commercial function, addition of an oce area, changing function of an existing space and simple decor design. In each of these projects I was handling Civil Defence, drainage, food control and calculation of (parking, oce area) layouts. Working process had two parts:

1. Creating a design according to client needs and preferences through architectural knowledge and experience.

2. Preparing full sets of layouts necessary for a submission to Dubai Municipality and getting an approval though process of online application and dis-cussions with engineers working in municipality. I also had to visit municipality centers oen.

is is a concept for interior design in Majlis in a palace in Qatar. It is mod-ern style with elements of Arabic architecture and patterns. It was import-ant here to reach photorealistic eect on rendering, to make the client understand the scale and materials that were chosen for the project. I started the design with hand sketch-es and completed it all with 3D Studio Max.

EXHIBITON STANDS

Dubai is the world’s business center and it hosts a lot of great international exhibitions. Good design of exhibition stands can be crucial for well-being of certain companies, which gives designers a lot of opportunities. Since I arrived in Dubai I’ve had the opportunity to work on exhibition stands for dierent clients and events. is work required great communication skills and general requirement to understand the client’s needs and the product they are selling. Following are examples of exhibition stand concepts created by me while working for a company named CANUZA.

e beginning of this project took place during my Erasmus student exchange program in Istanbul, where I had the opportunity to learn dierent points of view for architecture design. Project area is located in Istanbul close to the famous Taksim square. e biggest challenges in this project for me were a dierence in ground level that created many technical problems and a strong cultural and social context that needed to be accounted for. e subject of this project is “architecture center”. It is designed to contain exhibitions, educational centers, oces and services. e point was to introduce architecture as a subject for average people and create a place that could be a meeting and discussion point for architects and urbanites. During the conception process, I made it a point to respond to the biggest problems in this area which are overpop-ulation, lack of recreation space, lack of green and open spaces. An important fact was that the west eleva-tion of the area is open for a great view of the city and the sea. During designing process I used the positive traits of the area and dealt with the negatives in order to improve quality of urban design in this district.

ENGINEER DIPLOMA DESIGN 2012/13 INSTRUCTORS: PROF.ZW.DR HAB. INz. WOJCIECH BULINSKI DR INz. ARCH.JANUSZ PURSKI CRACOW UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE

e point of this task was to design the sport center for a small town located on the coast in Croatia. e program of the building includes a big sport hall, an administration hall, backstage for sportsmen, a big entrance hall, and a parking lot. My aim was to design something more than just a build-ing, which can contain a number of people in dierent types of events. I wanted to create a recreation and meeting center that can work for the whole town and also be an important point of interest to draw tourists into the region. In this way, the project would become a revitalization cen-ter that would inuence the entire population in the area. In the center, I put in many sports facilities like tennis courts, skate park and tables to play chess. ere is also a play garden for children. A sports hall was planned to fulll expectations from organization of international competitions, but apart from hosting professional sports events, it can also be used as a sport center for amateurs who desire self-improvement. Visually the building is quite modern, keeping to geometric shapes. Each functional part of the building has its own gure in composition. Structure is monumental enough to grab people’s attention and make a statement of its function, but not too monumental or shiny to dominate the landscape of the historic town.

Free hand drawing skills are largely underappreciated in current day architecture. However Cracow University of Science, from which I graduated, is still putting a great importance to this skill. While pre-paring for a practical drawing exam I mastered the technic of perspectives and visual eect. I’m present-ing here a selection of drawings for architecture studies. Most of them are ctional in nature. ey were made with pencil on a 70x50cm paper sheet with exception of the pictures on the last page.

FREE HAND DRAWING

In this last part I put few pictures of sketches that were made in A5 format, with a pen. ey were cre-ated by me during my travels around Europe. is technique is less precise but provides a possibility of creating valuable visual presentation at very short notice. Time I took for each of those sketches is around 15 minutes. It’s very useful in the designing process.
