Hair Donation Instructions

Note: It is helpful to have someone else cut your hair for you. You can download the Stylist Instructions that we would recommend you bring with you to your salon when you schedule your appointment to make the cut.

Hair must be clean, shampooed and/or conditioned, without any styling, 1. hairspray or additional hair products. Hair must also be completely dry.

Gather hair at the nape of the neck.2.

Create a ponytail using an elastic band. Ensure the band is tight around the 3. hair to keep the hair together after cutting. If the hair comes out of the band it will not be usable. A second hair band can be placed around the middle of the ponytail to help keep the hair together.

Ensure that the elastic band is just below where you want to cut your hair.4.

Measure the length of the ponytail from the elastic band to the tips, ensuring 5. hair is at least 8 inches or 20.5 cm long. Donations shorter than 8 inches will not be used, as it’s too short for making a wig.

Cut the hair just above the elastic band such that the elastic band remains on 6. the ponytail after cutting and keeps cut hair together. Do not wash or style the ponytail in any way after it has been cut off.

Place the ponytail, kept intact with the elastic band, in a plastic bag and seal tightly. 7.

Place the plastic bag with the ponytail in a large envelope and either use the eLabel 8. provided and tape it to the envelope, or use a stamp and mail your donation to:

Pantene Beautiful Lengthsc/o RESOLVE CorporationP.O. Box 4342110 Kipling Ave.Etobicoke Station B, OntarioM9W 5L4

If you would like written acknowledgement of your ponytail donation, please 9. remember to include your full name and return address with your hair donation.

Thanks for your supportThank you for supporting your client in their decision to share her precious hair with women in Canada fighting cancer.

As a hair stylist whose client is cutting her hair for Beautiful Lengths, consider this sad fact: 2 in 5 women will get cancer in their lifetime*.

You know very well the intimate relationship women have with their hair. And you certainly know how much anxiety and fear hair loss can cause.

Many of your clients have already been touched by this disease. If you have other clients whose hair is ready to donate now (or could be ready with a little more growing time) please consider telling them about Pantene Beautiful Lengths. Alternatively, people are able to give a monetary donation if they want to be involved, yet are unable to donate their hair.

To find out more about this campaign please visit www.pantene.ca or call 1-800-945-7768.
