WorldIATA AIRLINE CODESICAO AIRLINE CODES
IATA airline designators, sometimes called IATA reservation codes, are two-character codes assigned by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to the world's airlines in accordance with the provisions of IATA Resolution 762. They form the first two characters of the flight number.
The ICAO airline designator is a code assigned by the International Civil Aviation Organization to aircraft operating agencies, aeronautical authorities, and services. The codes are unique by airline which is not true for the IATA airline designator codes.

Airport code may refer to:
IATA airport code, a three-letter code which is used in passenger reservation, ticketing, and baggage-handling systems
ICAO airport code, a four-letter code which is used by air-traffic control systems and for airports that do not have an IATA airport code
Airport Code
An IATA airport code, also known an IATA location
identifier, IATA station code or simply a location identifier, is a three-letter code designating many airports around the world, defined by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
The characters prominently displayed on baggage tags attached at airport check-in desks are an example of a way these codes are used.
Generally speaking, airport codes are named after the first three letters of the city in which it is located –
ATL for Atlanta SIN for Singapore MEX for Mexico City IST for Istanbul; or a combination of the letters in its
name, EWR for Newark GDL for Guadalajara JNB for Johannesburg HKG for Hong Kong WAW for Warsaw
Some airports in the United States retained
their NWS codes and simply appended an X at the end, such as LAX for Los Angeles, PDX for Portland, and PHX for Phoenix.
The ICAO airport code or location indicator is a
four-character alphanumeric code designating aerodromes around the world.
These codes are defined by the International Civil Aviation Organization, and published in ICAO Document 7910:Location Indicators are used by air traffic control and airline operations such as flight planning.
They differ from IATA codes, which are
generally used for airline timetables, reservations, and baggage tags. For example, the IATA code for London's Heathrow Airport is LHR and its ICAO code is EGLL.
ICAO codes are commonly seen by passengers and the
general public on flight-tracking services such as FlightAware.
In general IATA codes are usually derived from the name of the airport or the city it serves, while ICAO codes are distributed by region and country.
ICAO codes are also used to identify other
aviation facilities such as weather stations, International Flight Service Stations or Area Control Centers, whether or not they are located at airports.
