ASSEMBLIES OF GOD U.S. MISSIONS
MAKING GIVING EASYDONOR GUIDE
Thank you for your interest in partnering financially with the U.S. Missions team! Assemblies of God U.S. Missions is dedicated to reaching people in the United States and its territories who are not reached traditionally through churches. Currently, over 17,000 missionaries, chaplains, and project volunteers are sharing the gospel in all fifty states.
Each member of the U.S. Missions team needs financial partners so they can focus on the work God has given them to do. Your financial gift enables them to start and continue this important work.
Opportunities for giving extend far beyond the traditional offering plate. New avenues for support make giving to missionaries and ministries quick, easy, and specific. Every time you donate to our missionaries and ministries, you make an eternal investment in the Kingdom!
facts… • 95 percent of your donation goes to the
missionary or ministry. • Donations help provide housing, living

StocksDid you know that you can gift stocks to U.S. Missions? When you donate stocks to a U.S. missionary or ministry, you have the opportunity to save on taxes. A gift of stock owned for more than one year entitles you to a charitable deduction for the full market value at the time the gift is made. If the stock has appreciated, you would avoid a capital gains tax on the appreciation. There are only two steps to take to donate stocks to U.S. Missions:
1. Transfer the stock. If the stock you hold is in a brokerage account, you can easily arrange a transfer to our brokerage account.

2. Distribute the stock. Contact the administrator of the Division of Treasury for instructions on how to distribute stock.

Your WillOne of the best ways to create a lasting legacy is by including charitable bequests in your will. When making this type of contribution, many factors influence your decision such as your assets, family concerns, and other interests. We’ve highlighted a few approaches you may want to consider when using your will to donate to U.S. Missions.
Give a Specific AmountNaming a specific amount and designation in your will can ensure the donation will be properly disbursed. By regularly updating your assets, you can be certain the accurate amount will be given and that the missionary or ministry is still active.
Give a Specific PropertyIf you know a missionary needs a particular item or asset, you can designate that property to them in your will. To be certain the object will be put to good use, check with the recipient before including it in your will.
Give a PercentageTo establish a distinction between charitable and non-charitable beneficiaries, consider designating a percentage of assets in your will to U.S. Missions. Using this method automatically adjusts the particular amount as your estate fluctuates.
All or Part of “What Is Left”Family and loved ones should always come first when choosing recipients in your will. If you are uncomfortable bequeathing a specific amount, property, or percentage, consider a gift from the residual or “what is left” of your assets after providing for your loved ones.

Matching GiftsMany employers offer matching gift programs. This is a great way to make your donations go even further. Thousands of companies have matching gift programs which double or even triple individual contributions made by employees and retirees to nonprofit organizations.
Ask your employer if they have a matching gift program. If they do, ask for a matching gift form from your Human Resources department, fill it out completely, and send it along with your contribution to:

Asked Q u e st i o n sFrequently
Can I deduct my donation from my taxes? When you contribute to U.S. Missions, you are entitled to a tax deduction because we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The receipts you receive from us are your IRS documents. Keep them in a safe place to claim the donation for the next tax filing season. Visit irs.gov or call a tax expert for more details.
Is there a way to make donations monthly, quarterly, or annually?
Yes. You can give as many times a year as you desire.
What if I miss a monthly donation? How can I start giving again? In the event you miss a month, you will not receive a statement or envelope for the following month. If you would like to give again, simply send in your donation along with your name, address, and name of the supported ministry. You can contact us by phone, email, or mail if you have additional questions.
To avoid missing out on giving, you can set up automatic giving by visiting giving.ag.org.
How can I keep from being placed on a mailing list? If you do not wish to be put on our promotional mailing list, please specify with your first donation or check the appropriate box on the Missionary Faith Promise Form.
