  • Our TestimoniesDavids Testimony:!!My parents arrived to Argentina as missionaries in 1986. I was born and raised in Argentina as my parents faithfully served the Lord. I trusted Jesus Christ as my Savior at the age of 17. I grew in my faith during the following years.!!Because of my background, God has given me a thorough knowledge of the culture and people of Argentina. Also, He has allowed me to have experience with church planting work on the mission field.!!After some counsel, God led me to attend Bible College. I attended Hyles-Anderson College and graduated in May of 2012. At Bible College, I met my beautiful wife and the love of my life, Hannah. She has been a tremendous blessing to my life and an answer to prayer. We got married in May of 2014.!!It was at a Mission Conference at school where God called me to serve in Argentina. God has ignited in me a passion to reach the people of Argentina. I have lived there, been with the people, traveled the country, adapted to the culture and language but more importantly seen the great need! God made it clear that He wanted me to serve with Him in the country of Argentina.

Hannahs Testimony:!!I was born and raised in a pastors home where I am the fourth of eight children. At the young age of seven I was saved in my Fathers study and later baptized. A major part of my childhood was spent in Mexico City where my family and I served. We spent six years as missionaries in this country. I thank the Lord for allowing me the opportunity of growing up in a different culture and the ability to learn the language fluently. !!After serving in Mexico my family and I returned back to the United States where we planted Hispanic Baptist Churches and Bible Institutes. During high school, I attended a Youth Conference and it was there that I surrendered my life completely to the Lord and to His will for my life. After I graduated high-school, I went to Bible College and it was there that I met my husband, David Owens. He was also a second generation missionary. We had much of the same passions and goals, the most important being to reach the lost with the Gospel and to see more souls saved.!!I thank the Lord for bringing our lives together the way He did. I am very excited about being with my soul mate and serving the Lord along side him in Argentina. Gods will is always perfect and I am looking forward to what He has planned for us in the near future.!

  • Our Ministry Plans!!Since the late 80s, God has had His hand of blessing on this ministry. He has allowed over 12 churches to be started throughout Argentina. One of those churches is Bethel Baptist Church in Tucuman, Argentina. This church is a strong, established work with over a weekly attendance of over 400 people. Bethel Baptist has impacted the lives of thousands of Tucumanos through the years. The Lord has blessed it with a vibrant bus ministry, a Bible college, and even a radio ministry. With Gods help, it can be done in Argentina! I thank God for the background He has given me.!!With Gods help, our plan is to return and work in three key areas:!!1. Evangelism & Discipleship, Preaching the Gospel (Matthew 28:19-20) We plan to begin

our ministry by starting our first church in Cordoba, a city 8 hours South of Tucuman. Cordoba is the second largest city in Argentina with a population reaching 2.5 million souls. It is located right in the heart of Argentina and is a strategic location to reach other parts of Argentina and South America. Cordoba has very few churches that are preaching the Gospel and sound doctrine from the Scriptures. The need is great in this place!!!

People are looking for answers A place that is still in darkness

  • Our Ministry Cont...!!!2. Training, Mentoring & Forming Leaders

(2 Timothy 2:2) Our goal is to start a Bible Institute to train pastors and leaders. We desire to train faithful and teachable men theologically and practically. Most of the new Christians in Argentina have no Biblical foundation at all. They need to be taught sound doctrine from Gods Word. Our mission is to train leaders so that they can go start churches; therefore, reaching more souls for the Lord. Also, give these men what they need to reproduce themselves in other lives. We endeavor to see pastors going throughout Argentina and extending themselves into other parts of the world.!!!!

    3. Planting & Cultivating Churches (Acts 16:5) We want to plant and establish local, indigenous, independent Baptist churches. We want to establish churches throughout Cordoba,Argentina and assist those in surrounding provinces and regions. Every church that is established should become autonomous meaning that we immediately begin teaching our people the importance of supporting their pastoral leadership financially and making responsible fiscal decisions. Also, we want to strengthen the new pastors and churches that are being established. Our desire is to please our Savior by fulfilling the Great Commission that has been given to us. We can reach Argentina and the world through its key cities, one person at a time.

  • Our Field!!!- Argentina is the 4th largest Spanish-speaking country in the world. Of all missionaries to Hispanics, only 5% serve in Argentina. This means there is a great need and there are still places where no missionaries have ever gone.!!

-Argentina is the largest Spanish-speaking country in territory. There is a much ground to cover!!!! !

-12 provinces in Argentina still do not have an independent, Baptist church that preaches the Gospel and sound doctrine from the Scriptures.!!-70-80% of Argentines consider themselves Catholics. However, less than 20% attend a church of any kind. A great door is opening up to reach them with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!!!-Argentines are disenchanted with the Catholic church. The Mormons, JWs and other sects are making strong efforts to spread their false doctrine among the people. Also, the charismatic movement is very strong in Argentina. However, they are preaching a works salvation. We need to establish churches that preach and teach the truth that is found in the Word of God. We want to point them to Jesus, the only One Who can save their souls.!

For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries. !I Corinthians 16:9

  • Recommendation

Dear Pastor,!!One of the greatest joys that a local church can experience is sending out one of its own members to the harvest field of God. With David Owens, our church has the added blessing of seeing 2nd generation fruit entering the harvest field of God. Davids father, Larry, was graciously saved at East Park many years ago and called by the Lord as a missionary to Argentina. Now, his son David, is further fruit to the glory of God as he prepares to serve in Argentina as well. !!As Davids sending church, East Park is excited to ask you to consider allowing David and Hannah to present the ministry to which God has called them. As a fellow pastor, I know you are inundated with many requests for missionary supportthe needs are great and the resources seemingly small. With that in mind however, I would like to point out some unique advantages to partnering with a couple like David and Hannah:!!! 1. They are both already fluent in the language spoken in Argentina.!! 2. David already knows the Argentine culture because he is Argentine having been born !! and raised there. Hannah, too, knows the Hispanic culture well, having !! grown up on the mission field in Mexico.!! 3. Both know the work of the ministry having grown up in a missionary-pastors home.!!While they are young, they are not a completely inexperienced team as many missionary recruits are. David and Hannah are a couple seeking to continue the ministry calling that has been prepared in them from childhood. They will be able to hit the ground running without spending massive amounts of time in cultural adaptation and language school. This is because of Gods gracious preparation in their lives. They are a special couple and Gods hand is on them. As they head to the field of Argentina with these sizable assets already in place I look forward to seeing how God will use them to bring the light of the gospel to a needy land. Will you consider joining in Gods amazing work? There are three ways you can:! 1. Would you grant David the privilege of presenting his ministerial calling at your church?!! 2. Would you let two other pastors know about this fine young couple?!! 3. Would you prayerfully consider supporting them financially along with your prayers?!!If you have questions about David or the ministry in Argentina, please feel free to contact me at any time. I would love to talk with you. !!In Christ,!!Ryan Banman!Senior Pastor of East Park Baptist Church !Decatur, Illinois!(217) [email protected]

  • Doctrinal Statement!!1. The Scriptures

We believe that both the Old and New Testaments are inerrant, infallible and God-breathed, and therefore are the final authority for faith and life. The sixty-six books are the complete and divine revelation of God to Man. Through the providence of God, the Scriptures have been preserved. The King James Version of the Bible shall be all that we use in the English language. (Psalm 19:7; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21).

    2. God

We believe that there is only one true and living God existing in three PersonsFather, Son, and Holy Spiriteach a distinct Person, but all of one essence and all having the same nature, perfections, and attributes, and each is worthy of precisely the same worship, confidence, and obedience (Genesis 1:26; Jeremiah 10:10; Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19).

    3. Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, shed His Blood on Calvary as a vicarious substitute, was buried, rose again bodily, and ascended to the Father according to the Scriptures (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; 1 Corinthians 15:3; Hebrews 4:15).

    4. Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Trinity, very God, coexistent with the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit is the chief agent in regeneration, the chief convictor of sin, and the chief comforter of the believer. Simultaneous with regeneration, the Holy Spirit baptizes the believer into the body of Christ. It is the privilege and duty of all the saved to be filled with the Spirit. We believe that God is sovereign in the bestowal of spiritual gifts to every believer. God uniquely uses evangelists, pastors, and teachers to equip believers in the assembly in order that they can do the work of the ministry. We believe that speaking in tongues was never the common or necessary sign of the baptism or filling of the Holy Spirit and that ultimate deliverance of the body from sickness or death awaits the consummation of our salvation in the resurrection, though God frequently chooses to answer the prayers of believers for physical healing. We are a nonCharismatic ministry (Matthew 28:19; John 16:711; Acts 5:34; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:1214 Ephesians 1:17-18; 5:18; Romans 12:3-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, 28; Ephesians 4:7-12; 1 Corinthians 1:22; 13:8; 14:21-22).

    5. Salvation

We believe that all who, in faith, receive the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior are born again by the Holy Spirit and thus become the children of God. Salvation includes redemption, regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. We believe that repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ are the essential conditions for appropriating the saving grace of God (Luke 13:3,5; John 1:12; 3:3; 17:17; Acts 20:21; Romans 8:2930; Ephesians 2:89; 4:30; Titus 3:5).

  • Doctrinal Statement!!6. The Lords Day

We believe that Sunday is the Lords Day and is a Christian institution for regular observance of worship and spiritual devotion, both public and private (1 Corinthians 16:2; Revelation 1:10).

    7. Creation

We believe the Triune God created the universe apart from preexisting materials. We believe that God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour periods. We reject evolution, the Gap Theory, the Day-Age Theory, and Theistic Evolution as unscriptural theories of origin. We believe in this historicity of the first eleven chapters of Genesis (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 19:4; John 1:13; Romans 1:20; Colossians 1:1617; Hebrews 11:3).

    8. The Local Church

We believe that the New Testament church is a local body of baptized believers with Christ as its Head and the Holy Spirit as its guide. New Testament churches promote Gods work by personal and corporate evangelism, and by cooperating with other local New Testament churches of like faith and practice for missions and many other joint eorts. The local church is governed independently from outside persons, bodies, groups, or authorities (Matthew 28:1620; Acts 1:68; 6:3; 1 Corinthians 16:1; 1 Corinthians 12:1214; 2 Corinthians 5:20a; 8-10; Ephesians 1:36, 2223; Philippians 4:1516).

    9. Ordinances

We believe that the local church observes two ordinancesbaptism and the Lords Supper. We believe that all who have received Christ as Lord and Savior should be baptized in the Name of the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit; that baptism is by immersion in the likeness of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ; and that the Lords Supper should be observed in remembrance of Him to show forth His death for our sins until He comes again. (Matthew 26:2630; 28:1920; Romans 6:36; 1 Corinthians 11:2326).

    10. Separation

We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Savior and Lord; and, that separation from all religious apostasy, all worldly and sinful pleasures, practices and associations is commanded of God (Romans 12: 1-2; 14: 13; 2 Corinthians 6: 14-7:1; 2 Tim. 3:1-5; 1 John 2:15-17; 2 John 9-11).

    11. Eternal State

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life in Heaven, and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment in Hell (Matthew 25:46; John 5:28, 29; 11:25-26; Rev. 20:5-6, 12-13).

    12. Missions

We believe that God has given the church a great commission to proclaim the Gospel to all nations so that there might be a great multitude from every nation, tribe, ethnic group, and language group who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. We are committed to world missions through prayer, sending, and giving for missionaries of like faith and practice (Matthew 28: 19-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-48; John 20:21 1:8; 1 Corinthians 5:20).
