Masthead- The name is red on a white background so it stands out. Unusually for a magazine the title is covered up, this might show that they are confident with there brand image and people will recognise it even if it is covered up.

These Cover Lines are good as they are around the edge of the page, next to the image, and although are very stand out they do distract from the image too much.

This Main Image is good as it is very stand out and is the main focus of the page, all attention will be on this at first glance, which is the main objective of the main image.

Main Cover Line- This is very stand out and you can tell it is the Main Cover Line because it is bigger than the other cover line, this is very basic with block text, but is very effective as it stands out so much.

Date Line and Price are here, this is a good place to have them as they do not take anything away from the cover.

NMEThe Main image is again in the middle and he is looking directly forward, giving the impression he is looking at you when you look at the image. It stands out and is very eye catching.

These Cover lines are good as they stand out, but do not take anything away from the main image, also they have images on them which is unusual for most magazines, but not NME, this is good as it again makes it a bit more interesting.

This ‘Exclusive’ is a Flash and helps sell the story as people want to know something they cannot find anywhere else

Main cover line, This is big and takes up a lot of the page, this is important as this is one of the first things someone sees when they look at the magazine.

There is also another Flash, ‘Revealed’, again attracting people as it is something they do not already know.

This Masthead, is good as it is big and bold and easy to read, it is the same as NME have every week, red with a white outline.

At the bottom right here, there is a Barcode, The Price of the magazine, and the Date it was published, most magazines have all of these on the main cover to give consumers that little bit more information about the magazine.

QThis Masthead is simple but effective as there is a block of red, just with a Q in the middle in white, it is in the top right of the page, this is the normal place that you find the Masthead.

This Main image is of Tinie Tempah, this again is in the middle of the page and looks as though he is looking straight at us, it is also a head and shoulder shot, this camera shot is very popular with music magazines and a lot of Main images are like this.

This Cover line goes all the way down the left side of the page and lists some very big music artists, this is good as they are above Tinie Tempah’s right shoulder, which makes you look at it because it is so close to the main image.

Main cover line is just his name, usually there is more than one line of text and it explains the story briefly, here it does not as it is explained in a different place, as the whole issue is just a chart issue, obviously Tinie Tempah is important in this.
