The teaser included conventions of a full length trailer, such as the film studios being credited right in the beginning. To make it more unique, the graphic designers have edited the Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow Pictures so that it matches with the theme and graphics of the film. Since the teaser shows colours of red, oranges, coppers, black and browns, it would not only make sense but also appear aesthetically pleasing if any logos or text were altered to match the film’s colour scheme.

Credits to the writer, director and producer also appear first to show viewers the main person behind it all. George Miller being credited first shows us his importance in this film.

The first clip shows a long shot of what appears to be a group travelling on their vehicles, with a voice over saying “my world is fire and blood”. As soon as he says it, one of the cars becomes destroyed from being attacked by a character in the vehicle opposite them, which could suggest what he meant by ‘blood’ (he, or people he knows, gets injured or even killed). Panning shot also allows the viewers to see it all, and because of this shot it also allows the viewers to know that the film is set in a desert (Australia).

As you continue with the teaser, the words ‘THE WORLD GOES MAD’ shows one by one, and in between are shots of some of the characters in the film in action. Instantly, this tells the audience on what type of genre the film is based on – which is action/thrill. This is because the ‘world’ and ‘mad’ gives the viewers a quick glimpse of what to imagine, as typically in movies, action based films involve the ‘world’ (as in people and places) and ‘mad’ (the action, the chaos etc.). Again like mentioned earlier, the text is edited to where it matches the theme of the film. The gold/yellow colour stands out vibrantly against the dark red.

For sound, there is an orchestral type – music playing at the back (non – diegetic). When more action/fast paced clips show, the music speeds up so that it builds up tension and excitement. The text above are also shown with ‘thumping’ sounds from drums, adding suspense to the teaser, making it more dramatic and empahsises on the text too.

Below are screen grabs of the characters that were shown in between the texts above. They all have a scary appearance and unrealistic clothing, so from this mise en scene you can tell that the film is also set fictionally. Furthermore, the clips taken to use in the teaser are all right in the middle of the characters fighting/in action, perhaps to give a quick insight to the audience about what the characters look, act, and how strong they appear to be with the alongside weapons.

There are also several camera shots and angles used in the teaser, the mixture of the various shots within a fast paced clip gives a more rushed feeling to the viewers in an exciting way to where they may look forward to watching the full length trailer upon release. To get a more in depth view of the action and characters, the camera zooms in closer to a more mid shot position, which also gives the audience a feeling of being involved and drawn into the film.

Coming towards the end of the teaser, the credits of the main 3 actors/actresses’ name are shown, with a clip of how they look like. Since it is only a teaser, not much longer scenes of these characters would be shown, but having their real names along with the role they star in tells viewers who to expect to see.

The teaser then ends with the music stopping to have the two characters speak, which results their dialect to be more emphasized and focused away from the fast paced music and action. When she says “so what’s your name?”, instead of him replying the scene cuts straight into the text saying both the title and his name – Mad Max (fury road). The teaser has been kept as minimal as possible with the characters to prevent giving so much away, so instead focuses more on the action to promote it’s genre.

No specific date is given, instead it says coming soon, as well as informing viewers that it can be watched in 2D or 3D, so a lot has been put into this film. The last part shows credits of the cast and crew involved, but again because it is a teaser it is shown very quickly
