Bob Merry – President Matt Gamache – Vice President Lynn Howard – Secretary/Treasurer
As offi cers of the MSSA, we would like to welcome you to the 2013 edition (and 65th year) of theMassachusetts State Shoot.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Ludlow Fish & Game Club for their hospitality and for hosting this year’s shoot. They have worked very hard to provide you with good targetsand a high quality, well run shoot. It is great that they once again have all 6 fi elds operational and ready to throw targets. The Massachusetts state shoot has been in the top 100 of the NSSA’s most prestigious shoots for the past two years and we fully expect it to meet that criteria again this year.
We’re happy to report that membership in the MSSA is UP and the participation at our registered shoots has been at or above levels not seen in many years. So, if you see a new face walkingaround the grounds at Ludlow, stop and introduce yourself. We had many fi rst-time state shooters attend the state shoot in 2012 and we’re expecting even more this year. In addition, we have several promising Jr. Shooters in the state. Four of them went to the Jr. World Shoot and the MSSA was proud to help with their expenses by paying their entry fees at this prestigious shoot in San Antonio.
It’s been our pleasure to plan and organize this year’s shoot for you. And now it’s your turn. We want you to shoot your best, enjoy yourselves, and hopefully win some of the many prizes and awards that are being offered at this year’s state shoot.
Please plan to join us at the awards banquet Saturday night at the club house after the shoot-offs. Just don’t forget to let us know that you are attending by signing up for dinner when you register to shoot. Dinner is complimentary – and yes, that means free – to all shooters. In addition to the shooting awards and drawings for prizes, we have a couple of people in mind that are slated for special recognition. So, please plan to attend.
Thanks for coming and shoot well!

Bob Merry and the MSSA asks all skeet shooters to remember
Jerry Durand and Elliott Farleyby donating to
THE DURAND-FARLEY FUND
to help support the
Massachusetts Youth Skeet Shooters
This year the Massachusetts Skeet Shooting Association helped with
expenses for four of our young shooters to take part at the Junior
World Skeet Shooting Championships in San Antonio, Texas. Representing
the MSSA this year were Owen Clark & Vinnie Cahill of Duxbury,
Connor Ball, of Wayland, and Devon Trainor of Danvers.
In the future, we hope it is one of your children or grandchildren who will
have the opportunity to enjoy the game of skeet and all that it has to offer the youth.
Please make your donation to the Durand-Farley Fund here at the State Shoot, to help support the
youth shooters of the future.
Thank you
