ConclusionsConclusions Efficacy of WideStrike™ cotton against Heliothines in 2006 similar
to 2001-2005 results.
Varieties containing WideStrike provided control of Heliothis (primarily bollworm) that were statistically similar.
- Boll damage exceeded 5% at four of 23 locations, all under heavy BW pressure.
- Under high insect occurrence, a few locations exceeded insect threshold levels of feeding damage or larval infestation in Widestrike™ cotton – treatment necessary to prevent losses from bollworm.

ConclusionsConclusions Varieties containing WideStrike provided control of secondary
lepidopteran pests that were statistically similar. WideStrike effectively protected against yield loss.
– Numerical and even statistic differences did occur among WideStrike varieties in one location. Yield potential and environmental conditions are likely contributing factors, rather than in-season differences in efficacy.
