Why Use LVC?What is LVC? Interface created by Calytrix Bi-directional DIS/HLA interactions to share data Can potentially support more than “just” DIS/HLA Entity Mapping – Receiving and Transmitting Entity Information

Benefits of Use Link up with other simulations Distribute VBS2 mission workload Automated use; minimal to no setup required to run LVC

How LVC OperatesEntities received through LVC are realized in 3D Can be observed and destroyed, but controlled by external

simulation Simultaneously transmit/receive VBS2 entity information

Basic SetupStarting a Dedicated Server For each group of clients, one dedicated server

will be started as a host for that group Only the Dedicated Servers are running with

LVC activated All clients start VBS2 normally and connect to

Practical ExampleMultiple Dedicated Servers & LVC Each server has its own concept of a larger scenario

• BLUFOR hosted Dedicated Server• OPFOR hosted Dedicated Server

Both servers operate independently on the same Network Dedicated Servers share information about its Network Scenario

• Dedicated Servers relay shared information to its respective clients
