Customfolderholdingfoldingpanorama,engravedplates joinedonversostoformcontinuousview:9and3/8inchesbynearly29 feet.Spectacularhand-coloredpanoramaof the funeralprocessionofQueenElizabeth I inApril1603,reproducingdrawingsintheBritishMuseumascribedtoElizabeth'sbiographerWilliamCamden,whoappearedintheprocessioninhisofficialroleasClarenceauxKingofArms.OthermournersofnoteincludeRobertCecil,ThomasEgerton,andWalterRaleigh.Atthetimeofherdeath,mostEnglishmenhadknownnomonarchbutElizabeth,astheelaborateformalprocessiondetailedherewasswelledbythousandsofLondoners.This engraved copy of Camden's original drawings was produced in 1791 for the Society of Antiquaries,appearing in thethirdvolumeof"VetustaMonumenta"; thepanoramahasbeenalmostentirelycolored inanearlyhand.Leftuncolored,strikingly,istheeffigyofthequeenmounteduponhercoffin,alikenesssostartlingthat theLondoncrowdgasped to see it.
