haften Gedanken und den Beschränkungen
einer Künstlerin in einer männlichen geprägten
Gesellschaft.
Yayoi Kusama, geboren 1929, ist eine der bedeu-
tendsten Künstlerinnen Japans. Vom 09.02.
bis zum 05.06.2012 zeigt die Tate Modern ihre
gefeierte Retrospektive.
Her works are a frenzy of colour and shape: fasci-
nating, ambiguous and obsessive. They carry the
observer off into a world of dots, nets or endlessly
mirrored rooms, where they tell of hallucina-
tions, obsessive thoughts and the limits placed
on a female artist in a male-dominated society.
Yayoi Kusama, born in 1929, is one of Japan’s
most important female artists. Her celebrated
retrospective can be seen at Tate Modern from 9
February to 5 June 2012.
