the conceptThe idea came from the sleep lady herself. The current Sleep Lady websites provides expecting mothers and parents alike with great information for how to best deal with their child and how to manage their sleeping patterns.

One piece of that information came in the form of a childs sleeping chart. A chart scaled to measure the amount a newborn needs all the way to a toddler. The information was shown in a hieracheial chart, which influenced our idea.

• Create a hiearchy of sleep tips for newborns all the way to toddlers. • Create cards that could be given out, purchased through Sleeplady.com• Create tags of the information to be attached to sleep related retail .

The objective: Get as many people generated to the Sleep Lady website and inform the audience about who the Sleep Lady is, her services and further information she has for epecting parents

the solutionThe solution to our objective is to create a clear sense of hierarchy using russian dolls.

These russian dolls are representative to the age of the newborn ranging from one month to two years. Each doll requires a certain amount of sleep and specific care. In order to entice the new parents to gain interest in, they need to get a taste of what Sleep Lady has to offer. Our solution is to create cards using these dolls to represent each stage of growth.

Each stage offer three tid bits of advice from Sleep Lady’s website. These advices are given in a card form so that the parents can keep them on file when they receive more advice in the next stage.

Mothers who use these can then share these cards with their friends who also have newborns with sleep troubles.

1 month (15.5 hours of sleep)

Think about using a clean pascifier when placing the infant down to sleep, but don’t force the baby to take it. If you are breastfeeding your baby, wait

until your child is 1 month old or is used to breastfeeding before using a

pacifier.

9-12 months

9-12 months (14 hours of sleep)

When your child is 9 months old, encourage him or her to become attached to a lovey - a special

stuffed animal or blanket. It makes the child feel safe and secure, particularaly at bedtime or

when he or she wakes up at night

Moving from crib to bed before age 2 usually doesn’t solve sleep problems but increases them. Not only is your child up at night but now he’s able

to walk around!
