The LSU Gymnastics team and the Baton Rouge community annually raise money for former LSU football player Bradie James’ Foundation 56 to fight breast cancer in the Baton Rouge community. • The meet will begin at 7 p.m., and fans can follow live stats and watch live video on www.LSUsports.net. Live score updates will be available on Facebook.com/lsugym and Twitter.com/lsugym. • Foundation 56 was created by Dallas Cowboys linebacker and former LSU star Bradie James. James lost his mother to breast cancer as a sophomore at LSU in 2002. Going into the fourth year of the Etta James meet, the LSU gymnastics team and the Baton Rouge community have raised more than $100,000 for Foundation 56’s effort to promote the awareness of and continue the fight against breast cancer. • The previous three Etta James Memorial Meets have been the most attended LSU home meets in school history. In the first meet in 2008, 7,717 fans came out to see the Tigers compete against Alabama. In 2009, 6,170 fans saw LSU beat North Carolina State, and last year 5,641 watched LSU topple Oregon State. • Georgia enters the meet at 6-3 overall and 2-2 against SEC competition. The Gym Dogs are coming off a loss at home against No. 1 Florida 197.725-196.600. Overall, LSU is 5-11-1 at home against Georgia. • Freshman Sarie Morrison has won two-straight all-around titles and will battle teammate Kaleigh Dickson and Georgia’s Cassidy McComb and Noel Couch for the all- around crown this week. • With two 9.9’s on vault against Arkansas, LSU has had at least one 9.9 on three events. No Tiger has posted a 9.9 or higher on beam although Shelby Prunty came close with a 9.875 at the Metroplex Challenge. • LSU is No. 21 in the rankings heading into the meet, which marks the 145th consecutive poll and 520th straight week that LSU has earned a top 25 ranking. The last time the Tigers were not ranked in the top 25 was almost 10 years ago - Feb. 26, 2001. • Injury Update: LSU added Sam Engle back to the beam lineup and Sarah Zoldos to the vault lineup. One or both might compete floor this week. • LSU is 2-1 in Etta James meets, losing to Alabama in the inaugural meet in 2008 and beating North Carolina State in 2009 and Oregon State last year.
